A fresh beginning in January is as good of an excuse as any to set new goals for your fitness and well-being. 1. Taking Those First Steps

Create a list of attainable goals, both short-term and long-term. This allows you to have a visible plan, which will serve as your daily reminder. Also remember that exercising doesn’t just provide external benefits, but also internal such as boosting your mood. “Mood Above Muscle” is what Blink is all about!

2. What You Eat

Moderation is essential. I don’t believe in diets, because they’re restricting and can increase your chances of binge eating. I do believe in portion control and balanced nutrition. Instead of having three large meals a day, have six smaller portioned meals with healthy snacks included. I love ice cream, but a healthier alternative could be a fruit that is equally as sweet. However, if you’ve worked hard towards your fitness goals for the week, then it’s okay to indulge in your favorite ice cream on a cozy Sunday afternoon. You deserve it!

Balanced nutrition is key to reach our fitness goals. Supplements will be a bonus to bring healthy nutrients to our body. Check this out, as it helps to improve the body’s overall health and wellness.

3. Fitness Advice

Consistency, patience, and perseverance are significant throughout your fitness journey. They are major factors, and it is important to keep them in mind. Consistency is showing up on the days that you would rather not. Those are the days that count the most. Patience is trusting your hard work and dedication that you’ve given day in and day out. Lastly, perseverance is pushing yourself despite the obstacles that you will come across.

4. How Blink Can Help

Blink has shown how inclusive they are as a brand, which is so important because we come in different colors, shapes and sizes. Every body is different! The brand has recently launched the first-of-its-kind personalized mobile companion, which curates content for each individual based on their intake form and browsing habits, because fitness isn't one-size-fits-all! The app helps members with exercise routines, nutrition and recharging! It caters to all, which makes it such an amazing app!

5. Don’t Make This Mistake

One big mistake that I often see is people not creating goals. If a goal is not created and written down, then you have nothing to strive towards. Goals provide structure. and being able to see them written down is definitely a stepping stone for your success. I’ve found it helpful to write down my fitness goals, both short-term and long-term. When you focus on meeting your short-term goals, it places you in the proper position to meet your long-term goals. Seeing your goals will also serve as daily reminders and push you in the right direction! Use Blink's PMC to help you identify the goals most important to you and stick to them.

6. Make Fitness Fun

It helps to make fitness fun! Remember that it’s a journey to a healthier lifestyle. Incorporate different activities into your routine. If you’re someone like me who hates cardio, my alternative is playing basketball. Find hobbies that you truly love. Blink's Personalized Mobile Companion is great for keeping your routine fresh if you're someone who gets bored quickly.

Also, share your fitness goals with family and friends who are supportive. It adds value and longevity to your fitness journey! Lastly, always look back to see how far you’ve come and how many people you’ve inspired along the way. Small progress is still progress and you owe it yourself to continue on this journey. Your body is the greatest gift you’ll ever own!
