Beauty Boss: Ann McFerran, Founder of Glamnetic

Ann McFerran, Founder of Glamnetic

Our latest Beauty Boss is Ann McFerran, Founder of Glamnetic, a brand known for its wide range of magnetic lashes and press-on nail styles.

Though McFerran achieved her dream of getting into UCLA for pre-med to become a doctor, once there something felt off. She realized that without art and creativity in her life she felt unfilled and shifted her focus.

McFerran’s professional journey led her to apply her passion for creativity to the beauty industry. While she loved the way false lashes looked and made her feel, she noticed magnetic lashes could be difficult to put on. They didn’t seem to live up to claims of working well and looking as good as strip lashes. McFerran set out to create an easy, effortless way to apply high-quality magnetic lashes, and Glamnetic was born.

Since its launch in 2019, Glamnetic has expanded to include a large selection of perfectly manicured press-on nail designs. The brand makes salon-quality lash and nail looks accessible for anyone to achieve at home affordably.

Glamnetic lashes feature 6-plus magnets each and are precut to be the average length of the human eye, improving on previous options on the market. Customers can choose from a range of magnetic lash liner colors and formulas for application, including felt-tip and liquid liners. With proper care, each set of lashes can be used over 40 times, allowing Glamnetic to offer a more budget-friendly and sustainable lash option.

Glamnetic nail kits are designed to give you the look of a professional manicure that can easily and quickly be achieved at home. The brand launches new nail styles every month, so customers can sport the latest nail trends, including popular nail shapes and fun nail art. Glamnetic nails can last from 2-3 weeks when applied properly with the brand’s nail glue. There’s also a nail tape available for a more temporary look (up to 5 days).

We caught up with McFerran to learn more about her experience launching Glamnetic, her personal favorites, and her top beauty and wellness tips.

Olive You nails are a current favorite of McFerran.

Can you share a little about your journey in the industry and what led you to launch Glamnetic?

I achieved my dream of being admitted to one of the top universities in the country, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and decided to major in science as a pre-med and become a doctor. Almost immediately, something felt off.

Without the artistic and creative aspects of my life, something was missing. I took an art class at UCLA, and that inspired me to get back into art. I ended up selling a painting for thousands of dollars which led me to pursue art for the next 4 years. However, I realized art was lonely and hard to scale.

I met many e-commerce entrepreneurs as clients, and when I saw a gap in the beauty industry for magnetic lashes that actually worked, I knew I had to develop them myself. I taught myself everything from product development to marketing, and one year later Glamnetic was born!

When was Glamnetic founded and is there anything you want readers to know about the story behind the name?

Glamnetic was founded July 31st, 2019. The first product we launched was glam magnetic lashes, and I came up with the idea to put those two words together into Glamnetic. I remember sitting on the kitchen table and trying to put different words together for an hour until I stumbled upon this one. I was shocked when I found it wasn’t taken anywhere online.

What makes your products unique?

Our products are meant to save you time, money, and effort. You no longer need to go to the salon to get beautiful lashes and nails. We formulated a magnetic eyeliner that holds our magnetic lashes in all day and created lashes that look full and luxurious. We have the largest selection of magnetic lash styles on the market.

Our nails mimic the feel of acrylic nails through our custom molded shapes but they look even better because the designs and shape are perfect every time. We come out with new designs on a monthly basis so we are staying at the cutting edge of the trends.

Glamnetic Lashes in Shameless

Do you have a hero product? What are your favorites?

Our main hero products are our magnetic lashes and our press on nails. I love Shameless from our magnetic lashes and my favorite press on nail style right now is Olive You.

Is there anything you want people to know about the way your products are made?

Our press-on nails have an added UV coat, providing a glossy and seamless finish. Our UV top coat is cured with UV light during manufacturing to maximize the press-on nails’ durability. The UV finish acts as a protective coat, making it harder to chip or scratch the nails. Plus, our nails are 100% vegan and cruelty free!

Where are your products sold?

Glamnetic.com, Ulta online and in-store, Sephora online and in-store, Kohls in-store, Revolve.com, and Amazon.com.
