Chuan Spa Hosts Inaugural Global Wellness Week at The Langham and Cordis Hotels

Global Wellness Week activities including running in Beijing.

For the first time ever, the Chuan Spas at The Langham and Cordis Hotels worldwide are hosting their first Global Wellness Week from August 2 to 8, 2021. The events and activities are complimentary to guests who register at the hotels and cater to different fitness levels, ages, and wellness preferences.

Offerings range from group night runs in Shanghai and self-walking tours around Pasadena to aqua workouts in Auckland and more. They also include activities to calm the body, mind and soul including pilates, reiki lessons, and various yoga events.

“We want to encourage people to be active, stay healthy and also inspire them to spend more time taking care of themselves, especially as we cope with the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Amy Chan, Assistant Director of Spa, Langham Hospitality Group. “Chuan Spa takes a holistic approach to wellness, embracing the centuries-old healing philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and we want to educate and impart the benefits of TCM to all our guests.”

Chuan Spa’s treatments draw on the powers of the five elements and are based on Chinese medicine plants and principles, combined with aromatherapy. Prior to every Chuan Spa experience, a signature five element questionnaire will be filled out to determine each guest’s element. Each treatment will begin with the chosen element’s breathing ritual and completed with the ear auricular therapy, which helps to relax and relieve anxiety and pain.

In addition to free consultations, other TCM treatments featured in Chuan Spa’s Global Wellness Week include cupping, gua sha, and meridian line rebalancing. Guest may also create their own aroma sachets and fragrances using Chuan’s signature five elements essential oils, which are a custom blend of aroma exclusively created in consultation with professionals in Chinese medicine and by master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel.

Other wellness activities include aroma flower baths, five elements tea tasting, detox shots of multivitamin-infused healthy boosters, massages, meditation, as well as mindfulness and nutrition talks by experts to provide guidance on healthy living.
