Create Your Own Nightcap With This Rum Flip Recipe

Mar del Cabo’s Nightcap Menu is the newest turndown amenity offered.

The newly opened Mar del Cabo, which is located between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, recently added a Nightcap Turndown offering to its list of services. Guests at the boutique hotel can request a Rum Flip, Hot Chai Tea Toddy, or Whiskey Skin cocktail, upon which the ingredients, equipment, and a recipe card with instructions will be delivered to their room. Here, the hotel shares the recipe for one of its cocktails:

Rum Flip

2 oz dark rum

1/2 oz Demerara syrup

1 egg

1 cup of ice

Nutmeg

Directions:

  • Add rum, Demerara and egg into a shaker. Shake for at least one minute.

  • Open shaker and add ice. Shake the drink in the tin for an additional minute.

  • Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass using a strainer.

  • Using a grater, grate fresh nutmeg over the top of the drink.
