DIY Self-Care Recipes from Celebrity Facialist Joanna Vargas & Shiffa Founder Dr. Lamees Hamdan
We could all use a little bit of self-care right now, and what better way to do so than by whipping up your very own beauty products at home?
To help you get started on your at-home self-care journey, celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas and Shiffa founder Dr. Lamees Hamdan have shared four easy, relaxing and effective DIY recipes that feature all-natural ingredients.

Go ahead and treat yourself to some “me time” this weekend—you’ll have glowing skin and healthy hair as a result!
Pineapple Enzyme Face Mask

Benefits: Exfoliates, resurfaces and stimulates the lymphatic system, restoring skin’s glow
Ingredients:
1/4 cup mashed pineapple
2 tbsp. almond meal
1 tsp. coconut milk
Directions: In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Apply to face and leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse.
Chamomile Bath

Benefits: Heals dry, sensitive skin
Ingredients:
1 cup chamomile tea leaves
1 cup rosemary
1 large pot of water
Directions: Boil a large pot of water with the chamomile leaves and rosemary. Cook for 15 minutes. Strain and add to bath.
Aloe Rosemary Hair Mask

Benefits: Encourages healthy hair growth
Ingredients:
4 tbsp. fresh aloe vera blended
1 drop rosemary oil
1 drop castor oil
Directions: In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Apply to scalp and hair twice a week for 30 minutes, then rinse off.
Turmeric Face Mask

Benefits: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich, treats acne, dry skin, wrinkles and dark circles
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. honey
1-2 tbsp. yoghurt
Directions: In a bowl, mix all ingredients together and apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off.
