Everything You Need to Know about the Fox Eye Procedure

One of the hottest beauty trends right now is the fox eye look, which has become all the rage thanks to celebrities, supermodels, and influencers. The minimally-invasive fox eye procedure lifts the brows and outer corners of the eyes, which helps elongate the eyes and looks flattering with or without makeup.

“This procedure has been popularized by Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner when people started noticing a change in their brows, where they are more lifted at the ends, giving them a more exotic look,” says Dr. Clara Yu, founder of Beauty Cult in Redondo Beach, California. “This is definitely a popular look for summer/fall currently, but obviously just as much in the other seasons as well.  The benefits are that you will have a more lifted brow and it also helps lift mild hooded lids.”

Dr. Yu has been performing PDO Brow Lifts for seven years, a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that reshapes and lifts the brows for a more exotic, cat eye look. The fox eye procedure also involves lifting the ends of the brows up. Her clients travel from all over to get the treatment, which takes less than 30 minutes.

To create fox eyes, the procedure involves injected local anesthesia (numbing), which takes five minutes. Then PDO threads are  inserted with a small cannula (blunted needle). Clients are out the door in less than 30 minutes, and results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.

Typically, a person only needs to get the fox eye procedure once followed up with yearly maintenance. Anyone who wants a more lifted brow (including men) are candidates for the treatment. After getting the procedure, a client can expect some mild bruising, swelling, and/or aches for one to two weeks.

The fox eye procedure starts at around $900 and goes up from there. Dr. Yu recommends avoiding all blood thinners such as aspirin for at least one week prior to the fox eye procedure. She also advises clients to avoid sun, lasers, and pressure to the area for at least 3-4 weeks after the treatment.

“The lift is amazing and looks incredible when done the right way,” says Dr. Yu. “Wherever you get this done, please make sure the procedure is performed by a medical professional.”
