Facial Review: The Express Ultraceuticals Experience at Fairmont Spa Century Plaza
Though it has reinvented itself throughout the years, The Century Plaza Hotel has been an iconic Los Angeles luxury destination since 1966. When Fairmont Spa Century Plaza reopened in 2021, it was completely reimagined to take wellness experiences to the next level.
Dreamed up by international design team Yabu Pushelberg, Fairmont Spa Century Plaza is a modern and minimalist Forbes 5-star spa. At 14,0000 square feet, it’s also one of the largest spas in LA.
The spa menu offers an extensive array of performance-driven facials, relief and recovery massages, and sensorial mood-enhancing body treatments. Of course, being a 5-star luxury destination, the Fairmont Spa Century Plaza is highly selective when it comes to products used in their services.
I’ve been wanting to make it to Fairmont Spa Century Plaza since it opened, and was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to visit for the first time for an Ultraceuticals facial. If you’re not familiar with Ultraceuticals Skincare, it’s an award-winning cosmeceutical brand based in Australia.
Ultraceuticals was founded by Dr. Geoffrey Heber, a cosmetic physician who opened one of the first non-surgical cosmetic medical clinics in Australia in 1988. Heber launched Ultraceuticals over 25 years ago to provide performance-based products.
The Express Ultraceuticals Experience
My facial was the Express Ultra-Experience, a 30-minute service which gave me the chance to try the Ultra Resurfacing and Pore Refining Serum and Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum.
After cleansing, my esthetician Ingrid used the SonoBooster to infuse the Resurfacing and Pore Refining Serum into my skin. SonoBooster is a device that uses low-frequency ultrasound waves to help penetrate ingredients into the skin. Resurfacing and Pore Refining Serum contains mandelic and salicylic acids along with niacinamide and sarcosine to help resurface skin texture and minimize the appearance of pores.
The SonoBooster was also used to infuse the Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum. This product is made with three types of hyaluronic acid to provide optimum hydration to leave skin looking radiant and dewy. It also contains niacinamide (vitamin B3) and panthenol (provitamin B5) to give the look of enhanced plumpness while reducing the appearance of lines.
I also got to experience an Ultraceuticals Energising Mask and get moisturized with Ultra Hydrating Skin Mist, Ultraceuticals eye cream, and an Ultraceuticals moisturizer.
The facial ended with Ultra Protective Antioxidant Complex and Ultra Daily SPF to help protect my skin from environmental stressors.
Even though the facial was only 30 minutes, they packed a lot in. After the facial, my skin was refreshed and glowy and I felt extra relaxed. I had fun chatting with my esthetician Ingrid about skincare and getting her tips.
Century City is a busy business district of LA, but if you are looking for a little relaxation break, Fairmont Spa Century Plaza is the answer. Even if you only have 30 minutes to spare, you can treat your skin to 5-star pampering with an Express Ultraceuticals Facial at Fairmont Spa Century Plaza.
