Fun and Unique Jigsaw Puzzles to Keep You Entertained
Jigsaw puzzles have recently had a resurgence in popularity due to the fact that many of us are spending more time at home these days—and as it turns out, they offer plenty of mental benefits as well. Doing puzzles improves short-term memory, which helps us remember shapes and colors to figure out which pieces fit together. It also reinforces existing connections between brain cells, improving our mental speed and thought processes.
Keeping active with puzzles can also help delay the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, as they keep the mind active, support the growth of new nerve cells, and they can reduce the amount of brain cell damage that occurs in Alzheimer’s patients. And according to a researcher from the University of Michigan, if you spend just 25 minutes a day playing puzzle games, you can boost your IQ by four points!
