Glen Ivy Hot Springs Introduces Relaxing Shirodhara Body Treatment

Shirodhara is a deeply relaxing body treatment from the ancient Ayurvedic holistic healing practice.

Starting February 1, 2019, Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, California is offering Shirodhara Body Treatments. These deeply relaxing and rejuvenating services come from the ancient Ayurvedic holistic healing practice. Shirodhara, which is Sanskrit for “head flow,” is a form of Ayurvedic therapy that involves gently pouring a steady stream of warm herbal massage oil over the third eye.

Using traditional warm oils, the time-honored Shirodhara body treatment calms the mind to create a profound sense of bliss and contentment. The treatment begins with a powerful aromatherapy inhalation session to activate the senses and energy centers. A brief foot and hand massage follow to further activate vital organ energy centers and relieve stress.

Oil is then poured in a unique ancient flow pattern for eight to 10 minutes to stimulate the forehead nerve nodes, and balance the pituitary and pineal glands. Following the oil flow, guests indulge in a moment of total silence before receiving a head and scalp massage to complete the treatment in a state of happiness and mental clarity.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs has partnered with Shankara Naturals, a 100% organic, natural, vegan, cruelty-free Ayurvedic skincare pioneer, to introduce an authentic Shirodhara expression to Glen Ivy’s treatment menu. The 50-minute treatment costs $135. For more information and to book, visit Glen Ivy’s website or call 1-888-453-6489. Follow them on Instagram: @glenivy_spa
