Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness at La Cantera Resort & Spa Launches WellYou Lecture Series

Located on one of the highest points in San Antonio, Texas, Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness is a stunning sanctuary surrounded by nature that helps create a true sense of balanced well-being through its spa service and unique wellness offerings.

Laura Krohn, Director of Wellness, Recreation & Retail for Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness at La Cantera Resort & Spa, has a profound understanding of wellness services and its potential impact on a community’s well-being. Through her research to expand the spa and wellness programming, she connected with Dr. Sara Oswalt, professor, and chair of the department of public health for the University of Texas at San Antonio, which led to a new wellness lecture series partnership.

Spa Profile: Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness

The 2021 Speaker Series embraces science-based practices and education, and will consist of a hybrid of virtual and event gatherings in collaboration with various community organizations who serve the region. The Loma de Vida WellYou Lecture Series was enhanced and launches in 2021 with self-care topics to improve total health outcomes through an integrative well-being model that encompasses psychosocial, mental, physical, spiritual, and sexuality components. Upcoming WellYou topics for the 2021 Zoom lecture series include:

  • Spicing Up Your Relationship (Feb. 24 ) - Speaker: Dr. Sara Oswalt

  • Personal Well-Being: A Complex Web (March 24) - Speaker: Dr. Johnelle Sparks & Erica Wallace

  • Functional Movement & Strength Training for Longevity (April 28) - Speaker: John Long, Tianou Zhang and Wan Yao

Additional topics include: Power of Civic Engagement in May; Aging and Caring for yourself and the elderly in June; Living in the Moment in July; Creating a Well Family in August; Dietary Supplements, Separating Fact from Fiction in Septembers; Substance Abuse, Social Habits or Problem Behaviors? In October; Holiday Time: How to Shop Safely in Person and Online in November; and Authenticity: Being Yourself to Better Health in December.
