Meet Remedy Place, Los Angeles' New Social Wellness Club

Social wellness club Remedy Place opened on November 21 in Los Angeles.

Forget meeting friends for late-night cocktails at bars—there’s a new hot spot in town called Remedy Place and it’s totally changing the social scene in all the right ways.

Founded by renowned Concierge Wellness Doctor, Jonathan Leary, the brand-new L.A. destination is located on Sunset Boulevard and brings a social and Eastern medicine-based holistic approach to self-care. It offers a combination of high-touch and high-tech services with an educational foundation for those looking to bring their bodies back to balance while taking a pro-active approach to personal wellness.

Remedy Place aims to reset all of the various stressors (such as tension and hangovers) that wreak havoc on our daily lives by offering a place where one can achieve internal balance, and enhance their mental and physical health. What’s more, it offers the option to do so in a stylish and relaxing sanctuary where guests can have a social or solo experience—the choice is entirely theirs.

“Remedy Place is the manifestation of my life’s work, which is to radically change the way society integrates education into wellness,” says Dr. Leary. “Our current healthcare model is dependent and reactive, but I believe people should be independent and proactive—this can only be done through education. I want people to take back control and to utilize incredible technologies that exist today to keep their bodies in a healthy state of balance through preventative care that counteracts these stressors so they don’t build up and push their health over the edge. To do this, I wanted to create a place that was communal in nature, so that one can incorporate wellness into their social life—because the two can and should go hand in hand.”

In the IV Drip Lounge, guests can choose from an assortment of options to boost their wellness and energy levels.

Designed by Bells + Whistles, Remedy Place features a luxe, dark interior where minimalist form meets maximal texture. A neutral color palette, soft, natural light and lush greenery provide immediate serenity. Other highlights include a Meditation Room encased with glass walls, as well as showers and saunas that are warm and inviting with wabi-sabi influence—a Japanese aesthetic that is often described as “incomplete” or “flawed beauty.”

Warm lighting limits blue light, which can cause eye strain and inhibit relaxation. Underlying tones play beneath the space’s curated playlist, offerig added benefits for the body and mind. Remedy Place uses a combination of 7.83hz and 40hz sound frequencies, which help guests naturally produce matching frequencies through a process called “entrainment.” The 7.83hz frequency is the approximate frequency of the Earth and helps guests feel grounded throughout their practice. The 40hz frequency helps guests achieve states of peak performance as it tunes into the brain’s functions.

Guests can meet and relax at the Lounge + Nutritional Bar, which provides a menu of locally-sourced, all-natural, healthy curated food and alcohol-free beverage options from the best purveyors. Drinks are served up to rival any cocktail, guilt and toxin-free, and the nutritional bartenders will address specific needs by using ingredients designed to help with various issues, such as decreasing inflammation or boosting one’s immune system.

In addition to a relaxing Meditation Room, Remedy Club offers an array of daily group classes (starting at $30) with a curated lineup of engaging educators.

Dr. Leary and his team of holistic and medical experts, which range from nurse practitioners and naturopathic doctors to nutritional bartenders, have designed a menu of experiences based on the seven Elements of Balance: Mind, Oxygen, Movement, Nutrients, Cold, Heat, and Compression. Guests can book online or download the app to get started.

Recovery Specialists are available to help pair each guest to the Elements that best suit their personal stressors. In addition to Hyperbaric Chamber Oxygen Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, an Ice Bath with Breath Work, and other services, Remedy Place serves as a platform to highlight what’s new in wellness. Group classes (starting at $30) are offered daily and feature a curated lineup of engaging educators, including guest teachers like Julianne Hough.

Dr. Leary has also pre-paired several Rebalance Antidotes made up of multiple Elements to treat everything from hangovers to post-workout recover. Each service can be paired with a guided meditation. Remedy Place has developed pre-timed auditory journeys to help guide guests through their chosen physical experience. These mindful mixes are provided in partnership with audio experts, Master & Dynamic, whose headphones ensure the highest sound quality for every session. Highlights include:
