Practically Magic: Clip-In Extensions Makeover at Bellami Beauty Bar in West Hollywood

Some of us will never be able to grow thick, long hair no matter how many biotin supplements we take. I’m one of those people, sigh. Thankfully, there are solutions out there for those of us who need a little help to achieve the hair we want.

Over the years, I’ve had many discussions about hair pieces, extensions, and wigs with TV, movie, and editorial stylists about what they are doing behind-the-scenes to achieve styles for their projects. Not all the gorgeous long locks you see on TV and social media are natural, and usually, there’s a lot more to even the most “effortless” hair looks than meets the eye. 

One of the brands that comes up again and again when I ask hairstylists which extension brand they work with is Bellami. This brand has a wide range of color and extension method offerings, including wefts, tape-in, K-tips, and clip-in extensions.

In November 2025, Bellami opened an extension bar in West Hollywood where customers can get matched and styled. When I heard about BELLAMI Beauty Bar, I was eager to check it out to try out Bellami’s clip-in extensions, and see if I could find a color that worked for me. I’m a redhead, and finding extensions color matches can be a challenge since there often aren’t as many red options.

When I arrived at BELLAMI Beauty Bar, I noticed the employee working the front desk had beautiful long honey blonde hair. When I asked who did her color, she also told me that she was wearing Bellami’s extensions. I’m not kidding when I say I thought it was her natural hair length; it looked so real. What a great advertisement! 

Clearly Bellami did blonde extensions well, but the true test would be whether I could find a red color that worked for me. Stylist Ryan Martir helped me find a match with a clip-in extension color that was closest to my shade. It was close, but we thought it could be even closer, so I decided to pay a visit to my colorist Marco Pelusi to match the shade before having the clip-ins installed.

My extensions were Bellami Clip-In 18 inch extensions in Dark Maple Brown (Dark Maple Brown appeared to be a dark red/auburn color.)

Once I had my color match, I returned to Bellami extensions bar in West Hollywood where Ryan Martir expertly applied the 18 inch Silk Seam Clip-In extensions. The transformation was incredible – it was a huge confidence booster to have long, thick hair!

To maintain the extensions, Ryan shares, “Every seven to eight uses, I would wash the extensions with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. We also offer Bellami Shampoo and Conditioners here, specifically made for extensions.”

The evening I had my extensions applied, I had plans to attend the opening of The Witch’s Cottage in North Hollywood. My long red tresses gave me a “Practical Magic” aura that I embraced as I headed to the venue.

At the event, I ran into a friend that I hadn’t seen in years, and she immediately commented on how much she loved my hair long. I couldn’t keep the secret, and shared that my hair was thanks to a little magic from Bellami.
