Essential Well Being ($24.95) features more than 100 essential oil recipes and rituals for your body and home.

You may have heard of essential oils and their numerous benefits, but did you know that there are multiple ways to use them (aside from aromatherapy?) In her book Essential Well Being, Sara Panton, cofounder of vitruvi, a line of sophisticated essential oil products, shares more than 100 essential oil recipes, rituals, and suggestions—most of which take less than 15 minutes and feature ingredients you have lying around.

The Complete Guide to Aromatic Astrology

A few examples of featured recipes in the book include a Brightening Face Steam, a Sunday Night Hair Mask, and a nourishing Winter Woods Cuticle and Hand Oil. Designed to be well-loved and look right at home on your coffee table, Essential Well Being can help you live more naturally in a simple, sophisticated way. Check out the following recipe from the book:

Sunday Night Hair Mask

Ingredients:

Method: Mix together all components in a small bowl.

Application:

  • On dry or wet hair, apply one teaspoon at a time, starting at the roots and massaging into the scalp.

  • Comb through the hair, ensuring you get the oil to the ends of your hair.

  • If possible, braid or swirl your hair into a loose bun and tie it back to make sure the oil doesn't get on your own clothing or furniture. If your hair is too short for this, it's fine to leave it down.

  • Leave the mask in hair for 30-60 minutes, then rinse out with shampoo in the shower if you have more fine hair. If you have thicker, coarser hair, you can leave the mask on without rinsing.
