Red Carpet Beauty: Jamie Lee Curtis' Golden Globes Look

The actress looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2019 Golden Globes.

At the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards on January 6, which honors the best in film and American television, actress Jamie Lee Curtis stole the red carpet in a stunning Alexander McQueen gown that matched her new hair color, which was created by celebrity stylist and FHI Heat Artistic Director Sean James.

“Jamie’s white gown was the inspiration behind her radical change of hair color, and we discussed a month prior to the Globes the idea of matching her hair color to her gown,” says James. “That’s what led to the creation of her platinum white “Ice Queen” color.”

Here, James shares his step-by-step for achieving this gorgeous color and style:

Quick Tips from Sean James:

“When blow-drying the hair, go through section by section applying heat and letting it cool in the small round brush to create volume.”

“My favorite blowdryer to use is the FHI Heat Platform Nano Salon Pro 2000. Its powerful tourmaline ceramic core helps control the heat without burning, and it has a great cool button.”

“Once I’ve created the lift and shape I got into the hair, pulling, shaping and separating it with hairspray. Then I take a step back and look at it from all angles, making sure that the hair is complementary to the face.”
