Shiseido Celebrates Relaunch of WASO Skincare With Tasting by Celebrity Chef Shirley Chung in Malibu
On May 31, Shiseido celebrated the relaunch of its WASO skincare line with a Japanese superfood-inspired tasting and demo led by celebrity chef Shirley Chung (Ms. Chi Café). Tastemakers and celebrities, including actress Cassie Scerbo, joined the beauty brand at the Shiseido Malibu Beach House to learn more about The WASO skincare line while enjoying light bites and stunning ocean views. The line uses the power of superfoods and botanicals to promote beauty and health, and will be launching exclusively at Sephora.
The Shiseido WASO skincare line includes:
Clear Mega-Hydrating Cream ($38 for 50ml) A pure, clear cream that plumps, softens, and hydrates skin for 24 hours while helping to reduce the look of pores and prevent dryness. Nourishing with Ninjin, Japanese carrot
Quick Gentle Cleanser ($28 for 150ml): An alcohol-free, oil-free, soap-free, honey-gel cleanser that foams without water to remove makeup, dirt and excess oil. Antibacterial with Hachimitsu, Japanese Honey

Jenn Harris, Senior Writer at the LA Times Food Section, introduced Chef Shirley who showcased her famous honey roasted heirloom carrots with whipped tofu and Yuzu Aioli. With WASO-inspired superfood ingredients displayed in front of her, Chef Shirley proceeded to walk attendees through the history and process of creating her famous dish. Up next was her magical mushroom garden salad, which involved guests making and tasting their own unique style of salad. Lastly, guests wrapped up the demo by learning how to prepare and wrap wontons with honey Yuzu vinaigrette and chili oil.
