Spa Review: Waldorf Astoria Spa at Waldorf Astoria Park City

A hallway of warm wood welcomes guests to the spa.

With an array of luxurious amenities and sweeping mountain views of Park City, Utah, I knew I was in for a treat when I received an invitation to visit the Waldorf Astoria Spa at Waldorf Astoria Park City. I dropped my car off in the hotel’s valet area and walked across the stunning lobby to the spa’s entrance.

The spa’s tea lounge offers tea, snacks, and comfortable seating for relaxation.

A mix of dried fruit and nuts makes for a perfect spa snack.

I was greeted at the front desk by a friendly attendant and shown around before given access to a locker, robe, and slippers. The spa’s salon and lobby are upstairs, while the treatment rooms and relaxation areas are downstairs, with water features surrounding the stairs.

The spa’s fire lounge sans fire on a warm summer day.

I had some time before my scheduled service, so I relaxed in the fire lounge and sipped on tea while flipping through the selection of artful coffee table books that were on display. The spa aesthetic was clean and modern, featuring a palette of neutral colors paired with natural wood, brick, and stone—adding elements of nature throughout. One of my favorite features was the green accent wall, which was filled with plants.

The hallway leads to 15 treatment rooms.

My massage therapist, Cindy, escorted me through the wood-paneled hall to the massage room. Today I was receiving the Mountain Salvation Sports Massage (50 min/$176), which targets areas of the body worn out from physical activity—the perfect treatment for skiers and hikers alike. Cindy was skillful in her craft and knew within minutes that my neck was in need of special attention.

The massage uses a specialty pain-relieving frankincense and peppermint product from Yoga Balm to detoxify and soothe. I felt incredible afterwards and as always, my only regret was not booking a longer treatment. I’ll be scheduling the 80-minute version next time! Afterwards, Cindy offered me a delicious green smoothie shot, which is made in-house with superfoods including spirulina.

The spa’s signature smoothie is a refreshing post-treatment drink.

Next, I headed to the women’s locker room to continue relaxing. Within the locker room is a repose area that has heated ceramic loungers, beautiful blown glass creations, and a fireplace. This was one of my favorite parts of the spa experience so far. I was able to completely ‘let go’ while enjoying the loungers, which are ergonomic in design and offer the perfect amount of warmth.

The repose room is a must when visiting the spa at Waldorf Astoria Park City.

Ultimate relaxation in the spa’s repose room.

I showered using Zents Balancing Shampoo, Hydrating Conditioner, and Ageless Aloe Moisture Wash. Zents ‘Ore’ has been one of my favorite spicy scents for years, so I was thrilled to find the brand throughout the spa in the bathrooms, showers, and treatment rooms. After some time in the steam room, I made my way back to the changing area to get dressed—I felt renewed with soothed muscles, soft skin, and a clear mind.

Zents products elevate the aromatic experience throughout the spa.

Spa shopping is always a highlight of my visits and the spa’s retail boutique did not disappoint! Their shelves had everything from jewelry and yoga clothing to high-end candles and diffusers. Skincare brands, including Eminence Organic Skin Care, FarmHouse Fresh, Hydropeptide, and Image, were spotted in the mix.

Hydropeptide is used in the spa’s facials and is available for purchase.

Eminence Organic Skin Care is used in the spa’s backbar and is available in the retail boutique.

LAFCO candles make great gifts and are available for purchase.

Wishing I had a couple of days to experience all the spa has to offer, I toured the beautiful salon area with luxe hair stations and pedicure thorns. I also peeked into the vast fitness center with state-of-art equipment and complimentary classes for spa-goers. Perfectly placed, a door leads spa guests outside to the pool (I’m still upset I forgot my swimsuit!) From skiing to spa days, the amenities and service are top-class, and the Waldorf Astoria Park City truly has something for everyone. Until next time!

The spa’s salon offers the works: manicures, pedicures, and hair services.

A wonderful space for a pedicure party.

Newly remodeled, the fitness center has a large array of equipment, including a spinning room.

The outdoor pool is the perfect place to relax, soak up some rays, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

Insider Tip: Bring a swimsuit to enjoy the swimming pool, and if you want to have the spa all to yourself, book your treatment at 6 p.m. or after.
