Spa Profile: The Biltmore Spa at The Biltmore Hotel Miami-Coral Gables

The Biltmore Hotel Miami-Coral Gables opened in 1926 and is a National Historic Landmark Resort.

An elegant National Historic Landmark in Miami, The Biltmore Hotel Miami-Coral Gables opened in 1926 and is a 271-room resort that features Mediterranean architecture with Italian, Moorish, and Spanish influences in its design. Within close proximity to restaurants and shopping in downtown Coral Gables, the 150+ acre property is the perfect vacation destination, whether you want to go out and explore the surrounding area or enjoy a relaxing getaway.

The resort is also known for its restored 18-hole, 71-par championship golf course that was designed by legendary golf course architect Donald Ross. Amenities also include innovative dining options, the largest hotel pool on the East Coast, a modern fitness center, and a luxurious European spa.

The Biltmore Spa is a stunning 12,000-square-foot sanctuary where guests can escape for several hours (or even an entire day!) to relax and rejuvenate. Located on the seventh floor, the spa offers stunning panoramic views of Coral Gables. The Spa Boutique has an interactive BABOR Beauty Bar that showcases the brand’s most exclusive products and newest launches. Guests can also spend time in the Himalayan salt stone sauna, eucalyptus steam room, and relaxation lounge before or after their services.

The spa menu features a wide variety of personalized and innovative healing services that range from massage therapy and facial treatments to therapeutic body scrubs and wraps. The full-service salon inside the spa also offers additional beauty services including hairstyling, manicures and pedicures, makeup application, and waxing.

We interviewed Chawnacee Bryan, Spa Director at The Biltmore Spa, who shared insider tips, recommended treatments to try, and more.

Snacks Served: Currently, we individually serve an assortment of hot teas, dried fruit, and nut mix upon request.

Insider’s Tip: My biggest tip is using the scent of eucalyptus because it sets the tone for the entire spa experience. You can smell it and feel it throughout your entire spa day. Eucalyptus opens up the airways and is really great for travelers, since it’s also considered to be a relaxing aroma.

Bonus: We individually serve complimentary champagne, coffee or water. And with our new normal, we began offering a new hand ritual using essential oils, lavender, tea tree, and eucalyptus, that consists of washing hands as soon as they come into the spa.

In addition to individual treatment rooms, The Biltmore Spa also has a luxurious couples suite with a private bathtub.

Unique Treatment: One of our most unique treatments are our journeys and spa rituals, which include a soak—our hydro soak, which includes a myriad essential oils. It takes 20 to 30 minutes for the human mind to actually relax, which is why we always tell our clients to come at least 20 minutes earlier so they can get the full spa experience. Spa rituals are great for people and a very important part of the process and the full spa experience. We make it a point to always provide a full experience and we believe that is one of the reasons why we have so many of our clients returning. It becomes part of a wellness routine for some of our clients.

The Biltmore’s talented spa team offers personalized innovative and results-oriented treatments.

Insider’s Favorite: My favorite spa treatment is our energy work and chakra healing service that is beautiful and truly relaxing. It provides good energy and is a wellness treatment that I think everyone should do. This treatment is a good way to start being good to yourself literally from head to toe and with your body, mind, and soul.  It starts with gently dabbing essential oil over the eyes and exhaling and inhaling.

Every spa visit may be enhanced with a visit to the Himalayan salt stone sauna or eucalyptus steam room.

Splurge Treatment: A full day of spa would be the ultimate splurge. We would recommend getting a facial, massage, hair, makeup, and nails. You can literally spend the entire day in our spa and we can create customizable packages to indulge your wants.

The 271-room resort spans over 150 acres of tropical landscape and features Mediterranean architecture with Italian, Moorish, and Spanish influences.

Featured Products: For our facials we offer BABOR products, a pioneer in professional skin care. We also use and carry Pure Fiji products, as well as essential oils by Shankara, which are all-natural ingredients  you can actually also cook with. These products are truly special as they are stored in warehouse where there is mantra music playing 24 hours a day. Everything is handmade and made in small batches, and 100 percent of proceeds go back to charity and humanitarian causes. Inspired by international humanitarian leader and spiritual Master, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Shankara products are based in Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old Indian tradition and philosophy based on knowledge of the youth-restoring effects and therapeutic uses of herbs and oils to bring balance to the body, mind, and spirit.
