We spoke with Lead Therapist, Gillian Garcia, who shared recommended treatments, special amenities, insider tips, and more:

Eucalyptus Steam Room 

Purpose: Besides relaxation, it promotes perspiration, opens pores for deep cleansing of the skin and is good for blood circulation. Inhalation of steam is also recommended for bronchitis.

• 200 Fiber Optic lights that slowly change color from green, blue, white and pink 

• Heated benches as well as heated floors throughout the heat experience areas 

• White Quartz crystal (known for its healing powers) 

• Soft, fine ongoing steam which is quietly distributed within the steam room through the course of the day 

• Two Kneipp hoses for cooling down the body. Using the hose, you begin from the fingertips up the arm, working towards the heart, as well as from the toes working up the leg to the waist, and back again towards the heart

Ice Fountain 

Purpose: To be used when exiting the steam room. The heat from the steam room dilates the blood vessels. so by applying ice to the body, the process clears the arteries and is good for circulation.

• Flaked ice automatically made through the course of the day is used and dispersed in a glass bowl.

• Glass bowls are equipped with sensors, which eliminates the overflow of the flaked ice. 

• Using a scoop/hand full of ice, the ice is gently rubbed up each arm, as well as each leg, working up towards the heart.

Experience Showers 
There are three different shower settings: Cold Mist, Caribbean Rain, and Atlantic Storm.

• Cold Mist: Once you push the ‘Cold Mist’ button, a cold mist gives a feeling of freshness and coldness. The lighting changes in color to blue lights. The shower ends with a cold fog mist fading away and the blue lights turn off, then the shower lights turn back on. Duration: 37 seconds. 

• Caribbean Rain: Once you push the ‘Caribbean Rain’ button, a tropical drizzle rain begins. The lights change to orange tones and the drizzle changes to heavy warm rain. The shower ends when the rain turns back to the drizzle and the orange lights fade, then the shower lights turn back on. Duration: 45 seconds. 

• Atlantic Storm: This is a unique program—once you push the ‘Atlantic Storm’ button, it begins with a cold fog mist and the lights fade in color tones from oranges to blues, and the scents from mint to fantasia. The rain changes to a storm with flashing lights, changes in water temperature and includes a breeze. The rain slows down to a drizzle and the lights turn back on, ending the experience. Duration: 52 seconds.
