Sustainable Spotlight: Renpure Prioritizes Clean and Affordable Environmentally-Friendly Beauty

Renpure launched in 2008 with the mission to offer clean, quality beauty products that don’t break the bank. Not only does Renpure make its products compliant with EU regulations, but the brand also follows the regulatory standards of PETA, International Fragrance Association, Health Canada Restricted List, and California Prop 65 List. (While only 11 cosmetic ingredients are banned in the United States, there are over 1,300 ingredients banned by the European Union.) Renpure products are made without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, propylene glycol, or dyes.

The brand’s latest package redesign introduced a 100% recyclable pump, a major breakthrough in sustainability for the beauty industry. We chatted with Deborah Glasser, Global Brand Lead for Renpure & Mav Beauty Brands, to learn more about Renpure’s commitment to responsible, sustainable beauty.

Can you share a little about the story behind the brand?

Established in 2008, Renpure was founded on the principle of providing exceptional beauty and personal care products that prioritize high-quality, clean ingredients without compromising on performance. Offering great value to customers, Renpure carefully sources ingredients for its hair care and body care products, consciously excluding over 1,600 unnecessary chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. Through innovative and sustainable packaging, Renpure aims to contribute to the well-being of the planet, aligning with its mission to make sustainable yet top-notch products accessible to everyone.

In conjunction with its fresh and modern image, Renpure has introduced its new tagline, "Naturally Beautiful, Inside and Out," inspiring consumers to embrace their inherent beauty while having confidence that Renpure products not only prioritize cleanliness and safety but also deliver the desired results for a radiant appearance.

Renpure's product range is readily available at major retailers including Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods, and you can explore the complete distribution of the brand at Renpure.com.

Renpure is under the ownership of MAV Beauty Brands, a global personal care company with its headquarters located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada.

What are some of Renpure's offerings and what products are most popular?

The extensive Renpure product assortment encompasses shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion. Renpure also has plant-based hair products and other powerful ingredients that help minimize the damage to our environment and your hair.

Some of Renpure’s best-selling products available at Walmart include the Tea Tree & Aloe Refreshing Shampoo and Conditioner and the Coconut Cream & Vitamin E Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner.

Is there anything you want people to know about the ingredients or how they are sourced?

Renpure products are crafted with utmost care, utilizing thoughtfully selected ingredients, and intentionally omitting more than 1,600 unnecessary chemicals like sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and dyes. Renpure meets the rigorous standards set by regulatory bodies in North America and Europe.

What are some of the steps Renpure takes towards being sustainable? Is there anything unique about Renpure's approach?

Renpure has unveiled an elegant and fresh appearance for all its bottles, along with a brand-new logo. This revamp incorporates post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, demonstrating Renpure's commitment to sustainability. The real game-changer, however, is the introduction of the 100% recyclable pump, marking a significant advancement in the beauty industry. Renpure has revolutionized sustainable packaging with this innovation.

Unlike traditional pumps that contain metal springs, which must be removed before recycling, Renpure's inventive pump is entirely spring-free. This means that the pump can be easily disposed of straight from the shower into the recycling bin, without the need for disassembly.

What should we watch out for next?

At Renpure, we will continue to innovate in clean, sustainable beauty, looking to provide consumers with additional benefits for their hair and skin with on-trend, clean ingredients, providing radiant results.
