Try This Tasty Recipe for Chocolate & Avocado Mousse

Chocolate & Avocado Mousse is one of the dishes set to be served during Velas Resort’s annual Sabor Cacao Festival.

Cacao is one of Mexico’s traditional ancestral delights, and Velas Resorts pays tribute to the special ingredient with its annual Sabor Cacao festival, which means “cocoa flavor” in English. Celebrations, which take place at five Velas properties, range from special activities and spa treatments to themed dishes (such as Chocolate & Avocado Mousse) and cocktails.

We share the delicious recipe for Chocolate & Avocado Mousse below, which you can recreate at home. It’s guaranteed to impress even the pickiest of palates, and will also be served at the upcoming festival, which will take place from April 1-21, 2019.

Chocolate & Avocado Mousse

Ingredients:

1 Avocado

2.5 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

1 tsp Lime Juice

1 tsp Coconut Water

2.5 tsp White Sugar, Salt, & Ground Black Pepper

Directions:

  • Blend 1/2 avocado, 1/2 lemon juice, coconut water and sugar in a blender. Transfer to bowl and stir in cacao powder. Set aside.

  • Blend the remaining avocado and lime juice. Add salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to piping bag.

  • Place the cacao mousse on a small plate, serve with the cracker on top and dress with the avocado puree from the piping bag.

  • Serve and enjoy!
