We Tried Macy and Mia's PlayTime Is Over Collection

Macy & Mia Cosmetics collaborated with wrestling superstar Ashley Sebera on a five-piece collection called “Playtime Is Over.”

Macy & Mia, the makeup line founded by hairstylist and makeup artist DJ Victory, recently launched a new collaboration with wrestling star Ashley Sebera. The inspiration behind the products were the words “strength” and “determination,” which were meant to inspire people to keep reaching for their goals, no matter the obstacles.

The five-piece collection, aptly named “Playtime is Over,” includes a highlighter palette, two lip-glosses, lashes and a mascara. We were lucky enough to play with them all. Here’s what we thought:

“Determined to Glow” Highlighter Palette

I’m a HUGE fan of highlighters. You can never have too much glow. This palette contains six versatile shades which can be used on the cheeks, as well as anywhere on the face or body. The shades are not those of your typical highlighter palette. If you’re someone that can rock a purple highlight—do it.

Tip: I love using these colors as eye shadows, and mixing them with my blush and bronzer. However you choose to use them, all of the colors are beautiful, shimmery (no glitter!) and cruelty-free.

3-D Lashes

Macy and Mia’s 3-D Lashes with DJ and Dana Lip Glosses.

Drama. Drama. Drama. Vegan and reusable, you can’t go wrong with a good pair of dramatic lashes. Enough said.

Mascara

Mascara from the Playtime is Over Collection.

If you’re in search of a new waterproof mascara, look no further. You’ve found your new best friend. Made to separate and lengthen the lashes, you won’t be disappointed. You can ugly cry your eyes out and this stuff will not budge. That’s both a pro and con, as it only comes in a waterproof formula. A good makeup remover is a must.

Lip Gloss in “Dana”

There is nothing worse than super sticky lip gloss. The formulas on these beauties are glossy and shimmery, without being sticky and uncomfortable. Woot! Dana is a hot pink gloss that can be worn alone or over your favorite lipstick.

Lip Gloss in “DJ”

Perfect for every day, this shimmery champagne nude is my new go-to. I layer it over my favorite nude lipstick for the perfect nude lip. I also wear it on its own. So pretty.

Fun fact: Macy & Mia is named after none other than DJ Victory’s beloved dogs. 10 percent of all retail sales from Macy & Mia are donated to local charities that focus on animal rescue. So. Cool. Who doesn’t want to help animals? The Macy & Mia collaboration is sparkly, glittery, funky and fun. All of their products are cruelty-free and can be found online at www.macyandmia.com.
