Week 11 of Weekly Wellness: Oligomer Does the Body Good

It’s a marine-inspired wellness week, thanks to Phytomer! [Photo by Simon Rae]

I’m convinced the ocean has magical powers. It can be healing in so many ways, from the soothing sound of the waves crashing onto the shore and its immense natural beauty to the minerals and life found within the waters. For this week’s #WeeklyWellness2021 Challenge, I relaxed with Phytomer’s Oligomer PURE Sea Water Bath and corresponding shower gel and body cream to help fulfill my landlocked, ocean-loving heart.

Week 10 of Weekly Wellness: Take a Breath Inward

Full-disclosure: I worked for Phytomer, a French marine-infused skincare brand’s USA headquarters for many years, which helped convert me to many of their spa products. Oligomer, meaning “little sea,”  is one of the collection’s holy grail products and an important ingredient in nearly all other of the brand’s products. It’s a sodium-reduced seawater concentrate containing all of the active components of the sea, notably 104 trace elements essential to cellular balance and vitality.

Protected by a manufacturing secret, Oligomer PURE is obtained by the lyophilization (freeze-drying) of seawater, which suspends the state of activity and preserves all active properties naturally found in the ocean.

This Week’s Bath & Shower Ritual

This week, I used all of my favorite Oligomer products, boosting my wellness x3. While showering, I used Oligomer Well-Being Sensation Moisturizing Shower Gel followed by Oligomer® Well-Being Sensation Body Cream with Trace Elements. Infused with Oligomer® and hydrating active ingredients, the shower and body cream have elevated textures, smelling of fresh aquatic notes, green tea, and jasmine.

A real luxury for me included taking a bath with Oligomer PURE Seawater Bath—the unscented, freeze-dried soak. It can help combat stress, fatigue, tight muscles, a lowered immune system, and hormonal imbalance, which was just what I needed after an unusually busy week. I adore baths and always sleep like a baby after relaxing in Oligomer. My skin feels refreshed and revitalized, especially when I apply the Oligomer Well-Being Sensation Cream afterwards.

Week 9 of Weekly Wellness: mask.sip.love with Beauteani

This week’s wellness lineup included favorites from Phytomer’s Oligomer Well-Being Collection.

Phytomer’s Oligomer Well-Being Sensation Moisturizing Shower Gel has an intoxicating fresh scent and marine-infused ingredients.

When in Doubt, Take an Oligomer® Bath

For me, this bath is a cure-all and has been a trusted go-to for my family and me for the last decade. Since it’s freeze-dried, once it’s added to water it regains all its benefits to strengthen the skin’s function, recharging it with energy.

Feeling under the weather? Take an Oligomer Bath. Feeling anxious and need to calm down? An Oligomer Bath can help. Sore muscles? You guessed it—Oligomer is my solution. When I need a good night’s sleep or am recovering from jet lag, it’s my secret sauce. Packaged in individual sachets, this sea water solution is a travel-must and is an easy addition to any suitcase.

Week 8 of Weekly Wellness: A Full-Body Acid Peel with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare

Because Oligomer is a true treatment bath, it requires some professional instruction and is now only available  in spas, although it can still be found here. Instructions on the package advise users to pour contents of sachet into bathtub and fill with warm water. Because the powder is active, it’s important to make sure it is completely dissolved into the water before entering (otherwise it could feet hot on the skin.)

Soak and relax, then follow with a cool shower and body cream application. Though I didn’t have it on hand, the brand has a liquid version that features the same luxurious scent at the shower gel and body cream, Oligomer Well-Being Sensation Essential Minerals Relaxing Bath, which can be purchased online.

Cost:

Phytomer’s Oligomer PURE Seawater Bath ($11.50 per bath)

Phytomer Oligomer Well-Being Collection ($42.50-$71)

Available: Select Phytomer Spas and Phytomerusa.com
