We’ve got the Academy Awards beauty breakdowns straight from your favorite celebrities’ hairstylists and makeup artists.

Amy Schumer’s Oscars Hair: Better Not Younger

Celebrity hairstylist Kimberly Gueldner gave co-host Amy Schumer’s the lasting lift of Better Not Younger.

Gueldner, who owns the Voël Hair Studio in NYC, has worked with Schumer for seven years, so the two were on the same style page from the get-go: They wanted something with movement to complement the comedian’s body-hugging, sparkling Oscar de la Renta gown. “We did a modern take on Old Hollywood,” says Gueldner. “A soft, pretty blowout with a deep side part and tucked behind one ear. The look has a timeless elegance.”

To prep, Schumer washed her hair with Better Not Younger Wake Up Call Volumizing Shampoo for a gentle, sulfate-free cleanse and followed it with the Better Not Younger Hair Redemption Restorative Butter Masque. “Amy’s hair is fine and curly and can get dry,” says Gueldner. “The mask really gave her hair the moisture she needs.” Then, on towel-dried hair, Gueldner applied the Better Not Younger Lift Me Up Hair Thickener at Schumer’s roots and the Better Not Younger No Remorse Heat Protection & Taming Spray from mid-shaft to ends. Then she blew Schumer’s hair dry with a medium-barrel, boar bristle round brush. Next, using a 2-inch curling iron, Gueldner created curls and set them with bobby pins to cool. After Schumer’s makeup was done and the curls were set, Gueldner removed the bobby pins, brushed through the hair, and hit it with a bit of soft-hold hairspray.

Ariana DeBose’s Oscars Beauty Look: KISS and Joanna Vargas

To achieve Ariana DeBose’s winning Oscars look, makeup artist Andrea Tiller applied KISS Lash Couture Strip Lash Adhesive in Clear ($5.99 on KISSusa.com) followed by the KISS Lash So Wispy Multipack in Pompadour ($11.99 for multipack on KISSusa.com). Andrea shared her inspiration for the look below:

“Lashes are a key factor to creating a stunning eye look! For Ari’s lashes I used KISS lashes “Pompadour” to enhance her smoky wing liner and give her a playful , soft and voluminous lash to complete the look.” - Andrea Tiller

Ariana DeBose’s skincare was prepped by celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas.

Cynthia Erivo Oscars Makeup: Beautyblender

Using Beautyblender BOUNCE™ Always On Radiant Skin Tint in Deep 3 and a damp original Beautyblender, celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin covered her eyes and brows with light coverage. “Cynthia likes her brows to fade into her face but not necessarily completely disappear, so the skin tint is a perfect product.”

Joanna wanted to keep the look neutral and bronzey, so she applied the Bounce Magic Fit Creamy Bronzer & Highlighter Duo  in Chocolate and Deep Bronze to her eyes. First, using the bronzer, Joanna applied all over from lash to crease and blended out the edges, then applied the highlight all over the lid for subtle sheen.

Moving to skin, I used a damp Beautyblender to apply Beautyblender BOUNCE™ Always On Radiant Skin Tint in Deep 3 all over, then Beautyblender BOUNCE™ Airbrush Liquid Whip Concealer in 4.35 under the eyes, along the bridge of the nose, on the forehead, and on the chin. Joanna shares this is her favorite concealer! Simkin then pressed all of that in with a Beautyblender. Following this using a fluffy brush, applied the Bounce Magic Fit Creamy Bronzer & Highlighter Duo that Joanna used on her eye to her cheekbone, temples, and jawline.

Next, Joanna applied the  Bounce Magic Fit Creamy Bronzer & Highlighter Duo that was applied to the center of her eye to the high points of her face including the tops of her cheekbones, her brow bone, and the bridge of her nose.

Using a damp Beautyblender, Simkin set the center of her face using BOUNCE™ Soft Focus Gemstone Setting Powder in Topaz. Then, using the Big Boss brush from Beautyblender, set the perimeter of her face using the  BOUNCE™ Soft Focus Gemstone Setting Powder in chocolate.

To finish off the face, Joanna applied BOUNCE™ Liquid Whip Cream Blush in Blissful Berry to the top/back of her cheekbones and blended out using the damp Beautyblender sponge.

Emilia Jones Oscars Makeup: Shiseido

Emilia’s stunning gold dress by Dolce and Gabbana was a refined, shimmering look - so sleek, and special. I wanted to create a glowy bronzed look that felt like an extension to the dress. It didn’t overpower her or the look but enhanced the moment. I kept Emilia’s skin very fresh and glowy while adding some drama to her eyes using gold and earthy tones. I always practice elegant and glowing restraint and Shiseido’s lightweight, yet bold formulations helped balance the vision. –Misha Shahzada, Makeup Artist by Shiseido

To achieve Kourtney Kardashian’s cat eye Rokael applied the KISS Lash Couture Strip Lash Adhesive in Black ($5.99 on KISSusa.com) followed by the NEW KISS Lash Couture Masterpiece Lash in Pret-A-Porter ($9.99 on KISSusa.com)! Rokael shared his inspiration for the look:

Maya Rudolph’s Oscars Makeup: Armani Beauty and Pause Fascia Stimulating Tool

COMPLEXION: “For Maya’s complexion I wanted to keep the coverage sheer, I love Maya’s freckles and wanted them to show. I first applied Armani beauty Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer which instantly smooths the surface of the skin and allows me to use less foundation and achieve a veil of glow. Nothing perfects the skin like Armani beauty Luminous Silk Foundation. I chose shade #6 to keep Maya’s skin tone warm. I contoured the hollows of Maya’s cheeks using Armani beauty Neo Nude Melting Color Balm in shade #22 then flushed and warmed up the apples of the cheeks using Armani beauty Neo Nude Melting Color Balm in shade #51.”

EYES: “For Maya’s eyes I wanted a sheer sparkly wash of color combined with a defined lash line and fluffy feminine lashes. To achieve this, I first applied Armani beauty Eye Tint in shade #33 all over the eyelids. I then defined Maya’s lash line using jet black liner, curled her eyelashes and applied two coats of Armani beauty Black Ecstasy Mascara.”

LIPS: “For the lips, I wanted a subtle color to compliment Maya’s gorgeous orange dress that would wear all night. I chose Armani beauty Lip Power in shade #501 as it is the perfect pink pastel.”

Olivia Colman Oscars Hair: Better Not Younger and Currentbody

Celebrity hairstylist Marcus Francis used Better Not Younger products to give Best Actress nominee Olivia Colman a modern interpretation of Old Hollywood hair. In addition, celebrity makeup artist Sarah Uslan prepared Colman's skin with the CurrentBody Skin LED Neck and Dec Perfector.

Zendaya Oscars Hair: Antoinette Hill for Hidden Crown, JOICO, TRESemmé and T3

“For Zendaya’s Oscar’s look, we decided to go with this soft up sweep because we felt it’s very glamorous and Hollywood-esque. It also accentuates Zendaya's beautiful features.” – Antoinette Hill, Celebrity Hairstylist

I started off by prepping 18 inch Hidden Crown Original Clip Ins with Joico’s Defy Damage Pro Series 1 for bond strengthening and protection. The hair is 100% Human, so I had to color match for a seamless look.

I then created dimension using Joico’s BlondeLife Powder Lightener and used 2 Joico LumiShine Demi Liquid color formulas to achieve the perfect shade.

Next, I sprayed TRESemmé One Step Volume Mist at the roots of Zendaya's hair as I dried and styled her strands using my T3 AireBrush Duo on the medium setting with the round brush attachment to create even more volume at the crown of Z's head.

I applied TRESemmé Keratin Shine Serum from roots to ends for added smoothness and shine.

Then attached three, 18 inch Hidden Crown Original Clip Ins to the back of the hair for added fullness (they’re quadruple wefted, offering a lot of volume with fewer wefts which also prevents bulkiness for an updo).

I secured her hair with a soft elastic band and hair pins in the back.

To complete the look, I pinched out tendrils around the perimeter of the hair for added softness and sprayed TRESemmé Total Volume Hair Spray throughout to achieve an all day hold while still maintaining lift and volume.
