Whisperlodge presents a virtual adaptation of their hit immersive ASMR spa experience. For 75 minutes, their guides will lull you into a state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness.
For years, Whisperlodge has made their mark pioneering the practice of live ASMR, embracing touch, personal attention and gentle whispering—performative tools that are no longer available. While this virtual adaptation does not replace the live experience, they have approached it in the spirit of experimentation, revisiting ASMR’s roots as an online phenomenon. Furthermore, as tickets to their live shows have always been pricey due to their small size, this is a great opportunity for more people, from all over the world, to take part.
This experience is performed live by guides who are hunkering down at home in major cities. They’ve embraced the at-home DIY-ness, environmental sounds, technical limitations, and reliance on internet connectivity with the intention of bringing you authenticity, simplicity, and intimacy.
What You’ll Need:
75 minutes of time to spend in a quiet, cozy and dimly lit space, preferably alone
Zoom app downloaded onto your computer
Headphones recommended but not necessary
When: Friday July 31, 2020 from 7-8:15 p.m. PT
Cost: $15 per person.
Whisperlodge is also offering performance previews at $5 per person. Although the show is the same, there may be minor errors as they put their performers and platform to the test for the first time. For now, specifically for this show run, Whisperlodge will be donating 10% of their proceeds to G.L.I.T.S., an organization working on better societal outcomes for trans people.
They have also set aside some room in the budget to provide a number of free tickets to any BIPOC without comfortable means to attend. While they cannot offer this to everyone, they will do their best to accommodate you.
