Spa Review: We Tried Odacité's Nano-Infusion Facial at The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel

The Spa at The West Hollywood EDITION Hotel is a premier luxury destination for wellness and relaxation.

Of the many skincare brands I’ve tried over the years, Odacité is among the few that have made it onto my list of top favorites (as in, can’t live without!) Featuring clean formulas and clinical-grade ingredients that nourish skin by harnessing the healing power of plants (and influenced by founder Valerie Grandury’s French heritage and green California lifestyle), the entire product line helps skin look and feel healthy and vibrant.

Odacité also takes you on a sensory adventure with its incredible aromas, textures and colors—all of which come from the brand’s hand-selected botanicals that are organic, wild-crafted, or grown sans chemicals. All of their products come in beautiful containers and packaging so you’ll want to display them proudly on your vanity or bathroom counter.

After learning that Odacité had partnered with The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel to exclusively offer the brand’s new Nano-Infusion Facial, a customizable treatment that features non-invasive technology and an innovative new device known as the Nano-Infusion Pen, I couldn’t wait to go in and experience it for myself during a special media day event.

Located at premier luxury destination West Hollywood EDITION Hotel at the corner of West Sunset Boulevard and North Doheny Drive, the spa is a serene wellness sanctuary that offers guests a variety of technology-forward treatments, relaxing amenities and more in a stunning setting.

The spa features a minimalist and tranquil aesthetic—soothing to the overstimulated senses.

Spa Profile: The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel

Here’s what you’ll love about Odacité's Nano-Infusion Facial:

  • The treatment is available exclusively at The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel and offers three different offerings (Brightening, Clarifying, Renewing) depending on guests’ individual skin needs.

  • The facial features Odacité's brand-new Biocompatible Performance Nano-Infusion Pen, a non-invasive technology that opens skin via thousands of microchannels to allow deeper deliver of Clean-ical Actives, an encapsulated technology that is featured in the brand’s three Clean-ical Formulations Serums.

  • It’s the perfect treatment for achieving a pre-event glow without any downtime so you can go about your day looking refreshed and restored with newfound radiance and an improved overall appearance of skin.

  • Ideal for all skin types, the facial is suitable for sensitive skin, dry or mature skin, fatigued/dehydrated skin, and oily skin that is prone to breakouts, acne and congestion.

  • The Nano-Infusion Facial also incorporates Odacité’s other products including their popular Le Blue Balm Repair Balm, Quenching Creme Green Smoothie, Montana Harvest Omega Oil Cleanser, and many others.

  • The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel is a premier luxury wellness destination with various amenities including a relaxation lounge with healthy snacks, steam room and dry sauna, a curated retail space, and more.

The women’s lockers and private changing room.

After pulling into the valet at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel, I made my way to the spa—which is conveniently located on the first floor past the check-in desk in a quiet, peaceful corner that is just out of sight from the rest of the hotel.

The spa reception is located in the chic retail boutique that carries an impressive selection of local and national wellness brands such as OSEA, KNESKO, and of course, Odacité. I instantly was drawn to the branded EDITION items, which included chic black candles with the hotel’s logo on them (I ended up buying one after my spa service to take home as a memento from my spa day).

Once I was checked in, I was led down a hall to the women’s locker room and changing area, where a robe and slippers awaited me. One of my favorite things about The Spa at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel is the calming and minimalist design that can be seen throughout—from the neutral color palette and nature-inspired materials to the simplistic decor. Instead of being distracted by lots of artwork, furniture and other details, the moment you walk through the spa’s doors your mind clears—you have officially entered the relaxation zone.

The spa’s amenities include a steam room and sauna.

EDITION water cartons with fresh spring water are provided to keep guests hydrated during their visit.

Aside from lockers and private changing rooms, additional amenities include a eucalyptus steam room and a dry sauna. If you’re getting a facial like I was, it’s recommended that you do a steam session prior to your treatment and not after. Cute water containers (resembling mini milk cartons) were set out on a small tray by the vanity area for guests to sip on to stay hydrated as well.

Once I had changed into a robe, I headed downstairs where the expansive co-ed relaxation lounge is located, along with the spa’s private treatment rooms. There is also a refreshment station where guests can help themselves to warm tea, infused water, and healthy snacks like lavender almonds (so tasty!) and seasonal dried fruit.

The beautiful staircase that leads downstairs to the co-ed relaxation lounge.

With the subdued lighting, white sofas and lounge chairs, cozy blankets and reading materials, the relaxation lounge is the ultimate cozy quiet space. Towards the back of the lounge are several private seating areas that can accommodate several people in each and have curtains that can be drawn closed for complete peace and privacy.

The relaxation lounge offers plenty of seating, reading material and healthy snacks.

Not long after I had settled into one of the comfy couches, my aesthetician came to greet me and led me back to one of the treatment rooms where she would be performing my facial. After assessing my skin and discussing the current issues I was experiencing (dryness and dark spots from old breakouts), she determined that the Nano-Infusion Brightening Facial would be best for me this visit.

In addition to brightening and firming skin, it also helps skin glow and gives it a fresh and healthy appearance. She stepped out of the room for a moment so that I could slip under the covers and get more comfortable in the soft and heated treatment bed, which felt heavenly.

After returning, she began my facial with an aromatherapy greeting, which is customary at the spa. She poured several drops of a Sacred Harmony Essential Oil Blend into her hands, rubbing them together gently before placing her open palms directly under the face cradle of the massage bed, where I was lying face down. She instructed me to close my eyes and take several slow and deep breaths, which caused me to feel more relaxed with each exhale.

I experienced Odacité's Nano-Infusion Facial in one of the luxurious treatment rooms.

To thoroughly remove any impurities form my skin, she performed a double cleanse using Odacité’s nourishing Montana Harvest Omega Oil Cleanser, followed by the refreshing Blue Aura Cleansing Water, which contains three Ayurvedic herbs—Neem, Holy Basil and turmeric—to cleanse and soothe skin.

Then, she applied Bioactive Rose Gommage, a resurfacing enzyme mask that removes dead skin cells that have built up with papaya and pineapple enzymes without causing irritation. It also helps brighten skin, removes any clogged pores and congestion, and restores dull complexions with a nice glow.

She left the mask on for 10 minutes while performing a relaxing décolleté massage (one of the best parts of the treatment!) with Jasmine Whisper Body Oil, a hydrating and nourishing body oil that features jasmine, hemp and jojoba oils (not to mention that it smells divine!) My skin soaked up every drop and it didn’t leave behind any greasy residue—just a luxurious satin finish.

My facial incorporated a Biocompatible Performance Nano-Infusion Pen that uses thousands of microchannels to open up the skin, which allows for deeper delivery of the Clean-ical Actives.

Next came the Nano-Infusion Pen, which featured a flat tip that she pressed again my skin after applying Brightening Serum Vitamin C & E + Hyaluronic Acid. Part of Odacité's Clean-ical collection which features three different serums, Brightening Serum helps correct dark spots by brightening and evening out skin tone, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and fighting oxidative damage from free radicals.

Like the other serums in the collection, it’s formulated with the brand’s proprietary Encapsulated Complex Technology to maximize results without causing irritation. Using the Nano-Infusion Pen, she gently pressed the tip against my skin as she glided it across the surface to help the serum penetrate more deeply. She performed several passes with the device across my forehead, temples, cheeks and chin. It didn’t hurt nor was it uncomfortable—I actually found it to be quite relaxing!

After using the Nano-Infusion Pen, she generously misted my entire face with Hydra-Vitalize Rose + Neroli Treatment Mist to hydrate and balance my skin with rose water and neroli. To further calm my skin, she applied a generous amount of Odacité's hero product Le Blue Balm—a luxurious repair balm that soothes, repairs and moisturizes with squalane, shea butter and blue chamomile.

Then came my other favorite part of the service—the relaxing facial massage. Using firm yet gentle strokes, she massaged All-Embracing Watermelon + Hibiscus Hydrating Serum into my skin, which contains botanical actives like watermelon, hibiscus and oatmeal to hydrate and boost radiance.

After my treatment, I got to take home a bag with some Odacité products.

Just when I thought my skin couldn’t be any more hydrated, she added a final layer of moisture with Green Smoothie, which smells good enough to drink! This amazing formulation is powered by 16 different greens, superfoods, botanical extracts and clinical actives. It includes cucumber; apple, pomegranate and grape juice; polyphenols and antioxidants to protect against environmental damage, as well as blue green algae to fight free radicals.

My skin felt plump and hydrated, and to finish off the facial she applied BA+S Contour Serum Concentrate under and around my eye area to reduce puffiness and dark circles, along with an application of Aventurine Kiss Lip Serum on my lips, which moisturizes and plumps lips with clinical actives, vitamin C and CoQ10.

To protect my skin from the sun during the drive home, she applied SPF 50 Mineral Drops, a super lightweight formula that shields against the sun’s burning UVB rays as well as aging UVA rays. It’s a very soft sunscreen that disappears into skin as soon as you apply it. Now that’s skincare magic!

Founded by Valerie Grandury, Odacité is a line of clean skincare products that feature hand-selected botanicals that are wild crafted, organic, or grown without chemicals.

After my incredible facial, there was one more treat in store. When I stepped out of the treatment room, Odacité founder Valerie Grandury was in the relaxation lounge, where she was chatting with editors/writers after their treatments as part of the media day event. It’s quite a surreal experience being a big fan of a skincare brand and then getting the opportunity to sit down with the founder right after having a facial with the products from her line!

Grandury’s personal story is also very inspiring as she is a breast cancer survivor who ultimately created Odacité because she couldn’t find any clean skincare products and wanted to eliminate all toxic ingredients from her skincare regimen. After changing careers to become a wellness coach and moving to Topanga Canyon, she started to custom-blend formulas in her kitchen for herself and a few celebrity clients—and eventually built her own lab in 2009, which is also when Odacité was founded.

After a wonderful chat with Grandury (and a special bag of Odacité goodies to take home), my lovely spa visit at West Hollywood EDITION Hotel had come to an end. I was extremely impressed with the results from my facial and I noticed that as each week passed, my skin continued to look better with time. There was a significant reduction in dryness and inflammation after my single treatment, and I can only imagine the continued improvements I would see in my skin after several more Nano-Infusion Facials.

And the best part is that as your skin’s needs continually change, whether it’s dryness, inflammation, hormonal breakouts or fine lines, you can rest assured knowing that Odacité offers a customized approach that will help your skin continue to look and feel its best every day.

The spa’s retail boutique carries a wide variety of wellness and skincare brands, including branded hotel candles.
