No matter what age you are, you have the potential to be in the best shape of your life. We realize that it can be hard to stay motivated at times, especially when the gyms are closed and we’re all staying home, but there are many different ways to fit some exercise into your daily routine. Getting regular exercise offers many positive benefits, including helping to control your weight, increasing energy, improving your mental health and mood, and more.

At age 61, fitness innovator Tony Horton looks better than ever. As the creator of the popular home exercise regimen P90X and founder of Power Life, he is living proof that people don’t have to slow down due to their age. To help keep you motivate and in shape during self-isolation, Norton shares his favorite at-home workout tips along with a video of his at-home regimen.

  • The upper body, lower body, core, and cardiovascular exercises can all be done without a single piece of fitness equipment. Push-ups, squats and lunges, crunches and running or marching in place are perfect examples.

  • Stairs are also a perfect way to strengthen your legs, heart, and lungs. One, two, and three stairs at a time will certainly provide variety and varied intensity too.

  •  If exercise isn’t your thing, then turn up the music and dance around the house like nobody is watching. My wife Shawna and I have 2-4 song dance parties twice a week!

  • Getting stronger and healthier doesn’t require going to a gym or even committing to intense strenuous workout routines. It does require that you be consistent doing something 5-6 days a week. The main reason why so many people aren’t exercising at all is that they lack a plan and accountability. If you know what to do and when to do it—combined with a partner or great group of people to do it with—your odds for staying consistent go through the roof. Plan all your workouts, activities or classes in advance, and find someone who would be interested in joining you. All you have to do is ask!

To keep your energy up Horton recommends drinking the Power Life Foundation Four—a supplement that was created for anyone who wants to be more focused, energized and present every day. The formula  features two servings of organic vegetables, probiotics, prebiotics, magnesium and organic acacia, and can also be especially helpful for those who regularly struggle with digestive discomfort and low energy. To maximize benefits, drink Foundation Four in the morning.
