Behind the Brand: Bella Skin Beauty Is a Clean and Effective Anti-Inflammatory Skincare Line Created By a Mother and Daughter Team

Bella Skin Beauty is a line of clean, effective, and luxurious skincare that was created by mother and daughter team, Diana Shneider and Alexandra Bella.

A self-educated health and wellness expert for many years, Diana Shneider suffered from chronic diseases while growing up but healed herself with clean eating, supplementation, and meditation. She spent years trying to find the perfect products for her skin, and with her passion and knowledge of clean beauty and wellness, Shneider began to develop her own skincare products that would truly satisfy all of her needs and wants. Almost immediately, she began experiencing the incredible benefits of the products she was creating.

Shneider’s daughter Alexandra Bella has struggled with acne and redness since she was young, having spent most of her childhood playing junior professional tennis. While working as a full-time model in Los Angeles, Bella found that her skin was getting worse due to many hours spent wearing makeup on set. She was in dire need of skincare products that would calm the extreme inflammation in her skin and provide relief, but despite trying countless products, nothing seemed to help until Bella started using the products her mother was formulating, which completely transformed her skin.

“Skin is our biggest organ and everything that is applied to it gets delivered to our bloodstream very quickly,” say Shneider and Bella. “We wanted to make sure that only the cleanest, most effective ingredients with healing properties are applied to the skin. The most important thing we can do is reduce the inflammation in our bodies. If we continue creating inflammation through the toxic products we use on our skin and hair, we are adding to the overall body inflammation, which therefore causes aging, acne, skin conditions, etc. We believe it is completely possible to transform your skin to its optimal state with the correct skincare products.”

We chatted with Shneider and Bella, who shared the meaning behind the brand name, favorite products and new innovations, and more.

When was Bella Skin Beauty founded and what’s the meaning behind the name?

Bella Skin Beauty was founded two years ago. Most people think that the name Bella comes from the word “beautiful" in Italian, as it's a common term of endearment. However, our name has a very deep, personal meaning. Bella was the first name of Diana’s great-grandmother that raised her. She was like a mom, a soulmate, a shoulder to cry on—and her biggest supporter. She passed away when Diana was 15 years old, but her presence and essence has shaped Diana into the woman she is today. Therefore, Bella Skin Beauty was created.

Tell us more about your products and what makes them special.

We are creating and redefining anti-inflammatory skin care with luxurious textures, invigorating smells, and nutrient-rich formulations. Bella Skin Beauty is based on the principle of harnessing the power of ingredients that have been used and loved for centuries.  Our products are extremely effective, unique, and transformative without the use of harmful or toxic ingredients. We believe that compromising your health should not be an option—it’s the inside out approach of loving yourself.

Bella Skin Beauty is mostly an oil-based line. Unlike chemical ingredients, oils and real nature-derived ingredients replicate the wisdom of nature. Our beautiful, high-quality ingredients are completely safe and clean yet very potent and effective. Diana carefully formulates each product herself and every ingredient is recognizable because it is derived from botanicals and exquisite oils. These are high-performance ingredients formulated in a perfect synergy to reduce inflammation, hydrate, brighten, nourish, exfoliate, protect, cleanse, and detoxify.

Do you have a hero product?

We absolutely love all our products, we truly think of them as our babies. Having said that, our hero product has always been our Vitamin C SERUM-IZER, which is like no other vitamin C product on the market. It’s a true multi-tasker because it’s a serum and moisturizer all in one. It rebuilds collagen, brightens, firms, plumps, and helps diminish wrinkles and age spots. Also, the vitamin C in our Vitamin C SERUM-IZER comes from organic wild-crafted berries, so it’s very effective and potent.

What’s your favorite product?

Diana’s favorite product is the Manuka Coffee Face Scrub. This luxurious scrub is designed to gently exfoliate, renew, and regenerate skin while moisturizing at the same time. Your face will immediately feel rejuvenated after using this scrumptious face scrub and it smells and feels divine.

Alexandra’s favorite product is the Rose Neroli Toner. It is not only cleansing, revitalizing, moisturizing, and refreshing, but it’s a perfect foundation for the rest of your skincare routine. At the moment, you can find our products on our website. They are also used by and sold by multiple spas and estheticians in Southern California. 

Bella Skin Beauty Manuka Coffee Face Scrub ($68) gently exfoliates, renews, regenerates, and moisturizes skin with two types of finely ground coffee, sugar, Manuka honey, rose petals, and plant-based oils.

What's next for the brand?

We have a lot of exciting things coming in 2021, including a new-to-market product launch, the Watermelon Probiotic Underarm Toner. 

Underarm toning has so many incredible benefits. Not only does it reduce body odor, but it eliminates bacteria, gently cleanses the skin, protects against environmental aggressors, and maintains the skin’s pH.  The Watermelon Probiotic Toner is formulated with rose water, ylang ylang water, lemon, aloe, vitamin E, vitamin A, and more for a divine smell and soothing feel. Additionally, the product is filled with probiotics and lactic acid to kill bacteria and keep skin moisturized. As the first product of its kind, your armpit care will never be the same.
