Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing With a Full Moon Steam

Hewing Hotel has partnered with Stokeyard Outfitters to offer a special celebratory steam every month.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Hewing Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota has partnered with Stokeyard Outfitters to offer Full Moon Steam Medley—a monthly steam session on the hotel’s rooftop. The event kicks off with a popular guided sauna steam aromatherapy experience (called Aufguss in Germany), which takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aufguss steam sessions are a German tradition that helps practitioners enjoy the full physiology of hot/cold conditioning through sauna.

Guests will enjoy three guided sauna rounds with special “steam recipes,” consisting of water-pouring and steam-throwing techniques with essential oil aromatherapy crafted to increase circulation by activating the body’s thermoregulatory system. Each steam round is 10 to 15 minutes, and is followed by a 20-minute cool-down relaxation round and optional ice bath reset.

The next Full Moon Steam Medley will take place on Friday July 19, 2019, and space for the steam session will be limited to the first 20 people that reserve their spots by clicking on this reservation link. The steam session is followed by an open swim and sauna soiree from 9 to 11 p.m., which includes a DJ’d rooftop pool party under the moonlight, where they will be serving up an original “Moondance” cocktail.

The July 19 open swim soiree is already fully booked, but there are still spots available for the steam session. Another Full Moon Steam Medley will be held on August 15, 2019 and has spots available for both the steam session and the open swim. Tickets cost $40 for the steam session and $15 for the open swim.
