Cosmetic Dermatologist Dr. Lorretta Shares Top Skincare Routine Tips
We all know it’s important to wear sunscreen, but what about the rest of your summer beauty skincare routine? Of course we want glowing skin, but sometimes we might not be taking all the rights steps to achieve that goal. Cosmetic dermatologist and skincare line founder Dr. Lorretta offers helpful beauty tips and product recommendations for healthy summer skin.
Dr. Lorretta’s 5 Skincare Routine Tips
1. Wash your face.
Many people only wash their face at night to remove makeup and neglect cleansing in the morning. Washing your face in the morning is just as important, because with the increase in indoor pollutants (screens, phone, TV, and computer) your pores are constantly being penetrated, which causes wrinkles and age spots. Don’t forget to wash!

2. Don’t pick at skin.
Yes, your mother was right—leave your face alone! As a dermatologist (for over 40 years). I have seen it all. Those who pick live to regret it and those that leave it alone—even the big ones—have no scars.
3. Keep it moist.
Most people think oily skin is bad, and in order to get rid of it, go to extremes to dry it out. Pro tip: skin oils and moisture levels are different. Hydrate or your skin will end up getting confused, causing it to produce more oil than before!

Intense Brightening ($75)
4. Serum is key.
When in doubt, serum it out. Serums are essential in any skincare routine, as they are specifically formulated to penetrate into the deeper layers of skin, ensuring that the product works more effectively with noticeable results.

5. Keep your eye on the prize.
You need your eyes and they need you to protect them, so make sure that you use an eye product. The skin around the eyes is the thinnest area on the face and it shows aging the fastest. Don’t neglect them or they will neglect you!
