Why You’ll Love It: We’re fortunate to have a beautiful and well-designed space that puts everyone at ease the moment they walk in. Guests of Cowshed always compliment our ambiance and décor. We’re also unique in the sense that we are a social spa; you’ll probably tap a foot to our music, we have amazing bites and drinks, and have sitting areas arranged to encourage conversations.

Key Features: We have lounges with individual lockers, showers, and space to relax and unwind. Because Cowshed is a social space, we encourage guests to enjoy each other’s company over amazing food and drinks from The Allis Restaurant, which is adjacent to the spa. It isn’t uncommon to see guests eating lunch or enjoying drinks before a massage or during a pedicure.

Bonus: When you come in for a treatment on a Wednesday, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and bites. Also, you can peruse our music collection and select a vinyl record to be played during your nail or barber treatment.

Spa Snacks: In Cowshed, we serve items ranging from the popular avocado toast with egg and lemon to the even more popular chocolate chip cookies with shaved sea salt. We don’t discourage the occasional indulgence and believe that treating yourself to a brownie or cocktail aligns perfectly with a relaxing spa day.

Splurge Treatment: Our most luxurious splurge treatment is without a doubt our 90-minute Salt Scrub and Massage. It begins with a full-body exfoliation using our cactus bristle body brushes. Our Cowshed Spearmint Salt Scrub is then applied to further exfoliate and simultaneously hydrate the skin. A 60-minute massage with pressure to your liking completes the treatment.

Insider’s Favorite: My personal favorite is The Sleepy Cow Treatment. You feel relaxed the moment you lay on the massage table from the aroma of our “Sleepy Cow” pillow mist. An exfoliating back scrub is followed by massage of the back, feet, neck and shoulders—the areas we all tend to carry the most tension. The products used throughout contain valerian root and Melissa essential oils for unbeatable relaxation.

Featured Products: All Cowshed Spas carry our own line of Cowshed skin, body, and hair products. Our Cowshed products have playful names but we take their all-natural formulations seriously, and the products really do what they say on the bottle. Another line unique to Cowshed is our barber-inspired Neville haircare products. Each Cowshed carries something unique to that location. Here in Chicago, we offer select items from the highly sought-after Soho Home collection. While the collection is available online, we are the only location in the U.S. to carry the items on-site.
