Crossing Over - A Halloween Storytelling Journey in 3D Sound

On the evening of October 31 at 6 p.m. EST The Dojo Upstate & Friends invite you to listen in as the veil between worlds is momentarily lifted. Driven by immersive 3D soundscapes, this 60-minute storytelling journey will feature three different narrators and explore our relationship to the ultimate mystery of what lies beyond. Where might you be led to?

The experience is best enjoyed utilizing personal headphones to fully experience the 3D effects, but can also be enjoyed using a quality sound system or speakers. Please be advised the subject of death will be a subtle theme and may not be suitable for all ages (PG-13).

The Dojo Upstate: Eliza and Josh Peck

Immersive content creators and experiential designers Josh and Eliza Peck of The Dojo Upstate create 3D sound experiences for meditations, apps, museums, festivals, and wellness retreat installations. With diverse backgrounds in sound engineering, composition, art direction, and design work, Josh and Eliza curate a visceral sonic experience that highlights the therapeutic and transformative potential of sound.

Jamie is an award-winning, Brooklyn-based actor, writer, director, and voice-over actor. He has been creating, performing and consulting in independent theater, film, episodic work, and interactive art in New York for over 16 years. His first feature film Give or Take is currently showing in film festivals.

Lise Haines

Lise Haines’s fourth novel, When We Disappear, was published by Unbridled Books in June 2018. Her three earlier books are Girl in the Arena (Bloomsbury USA), a 2011 South Carolina Book Award Nominee optioned by HBO; Small Acts of Sex and Electricity (Unbridled Books), named a Book Sense Pick in 2006 and one of 10 “Best Book Picks for 2006” by San Diego’s NPR station; and In My Sister’s Country (Penguin/Putnam), which The Rocky Mountain News selected as one of 12 “Stellar Debuts” for 2002. A past finalist for the PEN Nelson Algren Fiction Award, she is Senior Writer in Residence at Emerson College and a former Briggs-Copeland Lecturer at Harvard University.

Hillary Schoelzel

Hillary is a Los Angeles-based writer with over eight years of experience working in the entertainment industry. In addition to writing her own short stories and screenplays, Hillary has had the opportunity to collaborate on projects with top Hollywood writers and directors. Most notably, she was the Associate Producer of the 2016 Sundance film THE HOLLARS directed by John Krasinski.
