A Look at Dermalogica's New Flagship West Hollywood Location
We recently joined Dermalogica to celebrate the launch of the new flagship location in West Hollywood, California which opened on February 13. The concept community-centered space offers educational events, a menu of skincare services, as well as retail.

Designed as a modern interpretation of the brand’s foundational pillars of education, personalization and human touch, the location is also a nod to Dermalogica’s rich history in Los Angeles.
A semi-private sink area invites customers to sample products on their own, while two skin treatment stations allow for 10- or 30-minute services performed by a skin therapist.
The open floor space will host monthly community skincare classes that will address various skincare concerns, such as adult acne and topics inspired by professional techniques. A community board highlights upcoming classes and boasts photos of guests’ healthy skin journeys.
A hallway leads back to three treatment rooms, where guests can receive 60-minute and advanced professional skin services. Each room features an inspirational quote from Dermalogica founder Jane Wurwand, meant to evoke the brand’s L.A. roots and entrepreneurial spirit.
“West Hollywood has served as a beacon, not just for the country of the United States, but also the world in so many areas—in art, design, wellness, architecture, inclusivity, housing, and how we handle issues that other communities shy away from,” explains Co-Founder Jane Wurwand. “I’ve always wanted us to have a space in West Hollywood. I have a huge smile on the outside and on the inside because I’m so happy that we are here.”

Wurwand shares that she is proud to provide a space not just for products, but also a location that can serve as center to offer education, a gathering space, and an event space for the community. “Every single product that Dermalogica makes is made with a great deal of thought, care and love,” she adds.
While visiting Dermalogica West Hollywood, we had the chance to receive skincare tips from Heather Hickman, Dermalogica’s Senior Director of Education, who took us on a journey of what happens to our skin on a daily basis and how to care for it.
Hickman gave us a peek at Dermalogica’s newest release, Invisible Physical Defense spf30. Hickman explains that while many physical sunscreens leave behind a white chalky mask on the skin, this new sunscreen uses technology that allows it to be completely invisible. We got to try it out for ourselves and we’re thrilled to see just how easily it blended into the skin without leaving anything visible behind.
The 100% blendable, 100% physical sunscreen is weightless and easily blends into the skin to help defend against UVA/UVB and blue light. The ultra-sheer zinc oxide formula contains a bioactive mushroom complex to help soothe skin and reduce UV-induced redness and dryness. It is free from artificial colors and fragrances, and is certified cruelty-free, gluten-free and vegan. Invisible Physical Defense spf30 retails for $54 will be available starting March 5, 2020.
