“This has always been the scene at Smashbox,” said Davis Factor, the visionary behind Smashbox Studios and Smashbox Cosmetics. “Opening our doors to the public reminds me why I started. I’ll take every opportunity to give back the energy and artistry that defines Smashbox.”
Back in 1990, Smashbox was born in a buzzing Los Angeles photo studio, the brainchild of renowned photographer Davis Factor. It quickly evolved into a creative sanctuary for top photographers, actors, models, and musicians. The vibe was electric, only pausing for essential makeup touch-ups. This vibrant energy led to the birth of Smashbox Cosmetics in 1996.
Fast forward to 2000, Smashbox introduced Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer, the first and the original long-lasting primer. This cult favorite product was designed to endure any lighting, continuous movement, and keep makeup looking better and lasting longer. Smashbox Cosmetics continues to merge indie authenticity with legacy craftsmanship, making every day a photo-worthy moment.
Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox’s Global Pro Lead Artist, adds, “Makeup is an art form for so many of us – the world is our studio. We’re taking this opportunity to remind everyone of their own inner artist, and to let them play and have fun.”
