Florida Spa Guide: The Best Spas in Miami

South Beach has some of the best wellness offerings not only across the United States, but in the entire world. In fact, Forbes named Miami (the greater city in which South Beach is located) as one of the best cities in the world for well-being—and it’s clear why.

As you might expect, the spas and wellness resorts in South Beach are out of this world. You’ll find typical offerings—like massages, facials, and manicures—but you’ll notice that they’re elevated. For example, your normal 50-minute massage might be twice as long as that. Moreover, you can customize virtually all of your experiences to your preferred pressure and taste.

Bamford Wellness Spa at 1 Hotel South Beach

2341 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL; (833) 625-3111

This spa located at 1 Hotel South Beach stands out to us as wellness connoisseurs because it was founded by Carole Bamford, an entrepreneur and businessperson who has spent her career nurturing sustainable and holistic living. Bamford believes that "What goes on the body is as important as what we put inside.” Thanks to that ethos, this spa features only organic skin care products—which are used on guests for a number of treatments.

For your reference, Bamford Wellness Spa refers to their treatments as “therapies.” Massage therapy, body therapy, and skincare therapy make up the breadth of their offerings. Among their more popular massage options is the Masterpiece Massage—a 50-minute massage that’s meant to melt away tension and stress. As far as widely beloved facials, we have the Sculpting Gemclinical facial, which helps to hydrate your skin and define your features.

This world-class spa, which won the title of Florida's Best Hotel Spa 2023 at the 9th annual World Spa Awards, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can book a treatment online or by calling the phone number listed above.

Tierra Santa Healing House at Faena Hotel Miami Beach

3201 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140; (786) 655-5570

Tierra Santa Healing House at Faena Hotel Miami Beach has been featured in goop and Forbes Travel Guide. Both publications say that they love this spa because of the pops of color throughout the property as well as inspiration drawn from South American healing practices. This tracks, considering that Tierra Santa is Spanish for “holy land.” Because of its inspiration, the offerings at this spa are a bit different than they might be at other resorts.

But first, let’s start with what’s similar to other spas. At Tierra Santa, you’ll find waterfall showers, an herbal steam room, a wet scrub, a sauna, and an ice parlor. You'll also be able to get massages and facials as well as in-room spa experiences. These massages include a 60- or 90-minute deep tissue massage as well as a detox massage.

Now let’s talk about what’s different. Tierra Santa is one of the only spas on this list (and in Florida, probably) that offers body rituals—which are meant to purify your mind and body. These include a bathing ritual and a hammam rose ritual. If you’re stuck between the two, I’d opt for the hammam. We experienced one of those in Marrakech, Morocco, and still dream about it to this day.

The spa is open 12 hours a day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can check out their spa menu and, if something catches your eye, you’re able to book your appointment online.
