The Soolip x Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village 2025 Spring Schedule is as follows:

  • Wildflower Alchemy: Hand-Dyed Scarves & Textiles with Natural Inks (Saturday March 22, 9.am. to Noon). Led by Waldorf educator and author Mona Lewis, this class guides guests through extracting colours from wildflowers, and further inspires the inner scientist by introducing the use of natural modifiers to nuance both subtle and intense variations of the base colours. Once a rainbow of colours is created, participants will learn how to prepare silk fabric with a mordant enabling the plant-origin colour to adhere to the fibres. Students will then dive into the magic of colour dying both a wearable silk scarf and a silk velvet patch to use as object d’art for the home, or create a unique card for correspondence.

  • Ink Play (Saturday April 26, 9 a.m. to Noon). German artist Mariken van Heugten takes guests by the hand and heart as teaches about the fascinating world of ink, using nature, its shapes, and ethereal organic movement as inspiration. Ink, as a medium, invites a playful, intuitive, and meditative approach to drawing and painting. Guests will enjoy the process of experimenting with ink; discover the many new properties about the materials used, and how to engage with them; and create several small size artworks.

  • Paper Play: Stationery & Card Making with Wanda Wen (Saturday May 10, 9 a.m. to Noon). This journey into the art of creating personalized stationery uses handmade papers and elements from nature. Participants will explore a variety of creative supplies, including pressed flowers, wax sealing, vintage postage stamps, and printed matter to design unique and beautiful stationery pieces. Guided by Wanda Wen, a life-time paper and nature lover herself, attendees will be inspired to create pieces that are a true reflection of their individual style. By the end of the workshop, each attendee will have a collection of personalized note cards (10 pieces) and gift tags (10 pieces) for social use throughout the year. Additionally, each participant will receive a J. Herbin Fountain Pen with two ink colours to add to the 20-piece stationery collection, housed in an attractive keepsake archival linen storage box.
