Bangs are back in a big way this year, and celebrity hairstylists Coby Alcantar of Oribe, Garren of R+Co, and Jen Atkin of OUAI provide tips on how to style fringe with different haircuts. Below, we feature three of the hottest styles that look great with bangs:

Look 1: Bangs with a medium-length/shag cut.

“Ask for bangs and figure out what shape you want,” says Coby Alcantar, Director of Training & Content, Cutting for Oribe. “Bangs are a great accessory and an easy way to change a look. They don’t have to be short—they can be long and still have a dramatic change.”

How to Style:

Look 2: Full bang/fringe with a blunt, short bob.

“This cut is like a layered bob with texture, but it can still be polished off,” says Garren, celebrity hairstylist and Co-Founder of R+Co. “It’s almost like a bowl cut but the sides are more square.”

How to Style:

Look 3: Textured fringe with a short, shag cut.

Tell your stylist you want a lot of movement and texture, especially towards the ends and in the fringe,” says Jen Atkin, celebrity hairstylist and Founder of OUAI Haircare. “It also helps to show your stylist screenshots of looks that you like, as long as they’re of someone with similar texture/length to yours.”
