How does The Westin London City bring Westin’s “Six Pillars of Well-Being” to life for guests?
Raffaele: At The Westin London City, we bring the brand’s Six Pillars of Well-Being (Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well) to life in meaningful, integrated ways.
Guests Sleep Well in rooms designed for deep rest, complete with our Heavenly Bed and calming amenities. They Eat Well with nourishing, balanced meals from our thoughtfully crafted menus. Move Well is supported through our running programming, yoga classes, and our fitness studio amenities.
Our Heavenly Spa and relaxation spaces help guests Feel Well, while flexible workspaces, high-speed connectivity and access in The City of London allow them to Work Well with ease.
Through playful and seasonal programming, including packages that offer exclusive access to Marriott Bonvoy experiences in London (from top music concerts to sporting events), and interactive property initiatives (such as the recent 'Art of Renewal' workshop collaboration) we encourage guests to Play Well, and leave feeling refreshed.

In what ways does wellness extend beyond the spa into guest rooms, dining, and overall guest experiences?
Raffaele: Our guest rooms are designed for truly restorative rest, featuring the Westin brand's signature Heavenly Bed, calming natural tones, and amenities like White Tea bath products and Sleep Well lavender balm.
Dining is thoughtfully curated through our Eat Well menu, offering nourishing, balanced dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients at Mosaic.
We also encourage movement and mindfulness with our WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, in-room fitness options, and the RunWESTIN program, which offers scenic 5K routes along the Thames and London's landmarks. This is open to both guests and the wider local community, bringing a deep sense of community and participation to our programming.
This summer we also collaborated with British ceramicist, Caroline Winn to host "The Art of Renewal," a mindful workshop series exploring ceramic making and sculptures, in addition to hosting a dedicated installation at the hotel. We have a full circle approach to wellness that guests can enjoy well beyond the spa.

How does the hotel’s location in London inspire its wellness offerings?
Raffaele: Our location on the banks of the River Thames sets the tone for our wellness philosophy. There’s something deeply calming about being by the water, while being in the midst of the vibrant heart of the city.
We recently launched three-bedroom Residences that boast exquisite river views which help to provide restorative long-term stays in the City. The riverside setting also enhances our RunWESTIN programming with easily accessible running routes along the river. This connection to London's nature is at the heart of how we deliver well-being in a city this busy and dynamic.
What truly makes our setting unique is its rich history. The hotel sits on Queenhithe Dock, where Alfred the Great famously arrived in 886 to rebuild the city after the Roman withdrawal. At the Heavenly Spa, guests swim above archaeological remains of the first-century Roman bathhouse at Huggin Hill, seamlessly blending ancient rituals of restoration with modern wellness.
It’s a powerful reminder that London has always been a place of renewal and we’re proud to carry that legacy forward for new generations.

How do you see the role of wellness evolving in hospitality, and what is The Westin London City doing to stay ahead?
Raffaele: We used to see a drive for wellness retreats and the need to escape to somewhere far and remote to experience well-being, mindfulness, and restoration. This is no longer the case as we see demand surge for well-being experiences that are closer to home, and integrated across a guest's journey, whether they're staying in a resort, a city or a villa — it's become an essential part of the hospitality experience regardless of where they are staying.
Wellness is deeply personal and its own definition is evolving; it might mean a daily walk for one person, time to read and rest for another, and a high-intensity workout for someone else. Today’s guests are looking for more than just a comfortable stay and they seek spaces that support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, whether they’re traveling for business or leisure.
At The Westin London City, we’re embracing this shift and weaving in personalizing wellness into every element of the guest journey.

What do guests love most about Heavenly Spa?
Raffaele: Guests particularly enjoy the sense of peace and tranquillity that Heavenly Spa provides. From the moment they step through the doors, they’re enveloped in a serene atmosphere that allows them to fully unwind and disconnect from the stresses of daily life.
The soothing ambiance, combined with expertly designed treatment rooms and calming aromas, creates a truly restful environment. It’s not just the luxury treatments that leave a lasting impression, but the overall feeling of calm and escape that guests cherish the most. Many leave feeling rejuvenated, balanced, and with a deep sense of inner peace.

Do you have an insider’s tip you can share?

What snacks and beverages do you serve at the spa?
Lyudmyla: Guests can enjoy a variety of dried fruits, along with a Jing Tea. For a touch of indulgence, prosecco is also available.
Which brands of products are featured at the spa?
Lyudmyla: Aromatherapy Associates and Germaine de Capuccini. Aromatherapy Associates is a UK-based luxury skincare and wellness brand that uses the power of essential oils to promote physical and emotional well-being. The brand offers a range of products, including aromatherapy oils, bath and shower oils, skincare products, and home fragrances, all made with high-quality essential oils.
The brand is known for its commitment to natural and ethical ingredients, and its products are cruelty-free and free from synthetic fragrances and parabens. Aromatherapy Associates emphasizes the holistic approach to wellness, with the belief that the sense of smell has the power to impact both the mind and the body.
Established in 1964, Germaine de Capuccini is responsible for some of the most important breakthroughs in skincare technology and remains, to this day, one of the world’s most important skincare brands, holding true to its original values of professionalism, quality, innovation, and integrity.

Can you recommend a luxurious “splurge” spa treatment?
Lyudmyla: One of Heavenly Spa’s signature treatments, Royal Jelly Face and Body Ritual (90 min), was created for someone who would like to be truly spoiled and indulged in this royal self-care. The ritual starts with a relaxing Pinda pressure points massage. Deep cleanse, soothing massage, and warm silk mask then applied to the back, followed by a leg massage. Finishing with a facial, where the soothing and nourishing properties of Royal Jelly Honey make this therapy ideal for skin that is in need of pampering.
What is the most unique spa treatment?
Lyudmyla: Amazonian Rainforest (90 min) is the most unique treatment at the Heavenly Spa. Embark on a transformative journey with our signature treatment, seamlessly blending a revitalizing facial with a soothing body massage. Begin your experience with the gentle sound of a rainstick, setting a tranquil tone and enhancing the sensory journey.
Indulge in a soothing body massage using Body Nectar enriched with passion fruit, annatto, and patatua oils. Inspired by the holistic Lomi Lomi massage, this technique employs long, flowing strokes to relieve tension, improve circulation, and promote overall well-being. Conclude with a facial that revitalizes the skin, leaving it luminous, soft, and refreshed. This comprehensive treatment not only nurtures the body, but also soothes the mind, providing a sanctuary of stillness and serenity.
Rise & Run by runWestin is offered every Thursday of the month and is open to beginners and experienced runners. [Photo courtesy of The Westin London City]
Do you have a favorite spa treatment?
Lyudmyla: Harmony in Sound (90 min) is my favorite treatment. Combining the soothing power of sound healing with the calming scents of lavender, ylang-ylang and vetiver, the Harmony in Sound Massage offers a deeply restorative experience that re-balances the mind, body, and skin.
Warm Himalayan salt stones gently activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the body’s natural recovery and stress-reducing mechanism—while the live sound vibrations resonate through the body, helping to identify and realign energy imbalances. This holistic treatment encourages a complete reset, fostering relaxation, deep rest, and overall well-being.
