How to Create a Vision Board to Make Your Wishes Come True
The beginning of a new year is a time for setting goals and visualizing what you want to achieve in the coming year. Whether it’s starting a new business, losing weight, traveling more, you name it—one of the best ways to map out your wishes and desires is by creating a vision board.
A vision board (aka dream board) is a powerful Law of Attraction tool that enables you to visualize your future and consistently reminds you of your goals. The Law of Attraction is the belief that we can attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on by using the power of the mind. It basically says that all thoughts turn into things eventually, so if you concentrate on positive things that you want in your life, you will find a way to achieve them.
By creating a vision board and placing it somewhere in your home, office or other space that you occupy and see daily, you are training yourself to manifest your desires. If you’re ready to start manifesting your dreams and desires, check out the simple steps below to creating a vision board that will help with the process of realizing your goals and wishes.
Plan out your vision board.
Planning out your vision board is one of the funnest parts of the process because you get to imagine all of the things that you want in life and write them out in a list. A few ideas include career goals, relationships, wellness, family, as well as other fun things you want to do such as travel more or learn a new language. These are the things that will inspire the images and words that you put on your board. You can get the images from newspapers, magazines, photographs, printed quotes—the sky is the limit.
Get supplies.
To create your vision board, you’ll need a few basic supplies such as scissors, glue/tape, as well as a poster board or some other material which will become the vision board. The beauty of it is that you can make it into whatever you want. Many people opt for poster board because it’s easy to display and doesn’t take up much space, but if you’re feeling extra crafty, you can take an empty shoe box and transform it into a functional vision board that doubles as storage!
Set up a creative space.
One of the most enjoyable parts of creating a vision board is the actual process—think of it as a ritual where you are casting a positive spell to attract good things into your life. Whether it’s the kitchen table or the cozy bay window where you love to curl up, choose a space that is comfortable and inspiring. Set the mood with relaxing music, aromatherapy, candles, etc.
Then it’s time to get to work: a vision board is like a collage—there are no set rules and you can arrange it however you want. Cut out the images and words that pop out to you, arranging them on the surface of your board. You can glue/tape them as you go, or lay out the entire design and save the gluing and taping part for last.
Display it where you can see it.
Once you’re all done creating your vision board, place it in a spot that you see every day, like one of the walls in your bedroom or office. By looking at it daily, you’ll have a visual reminder of the things that you want in life, and it serves a powerful tool that can help you attract your goals and desires into your life.
