Beach House Day Spa

Beach House Day Spa invites its guests to head to the beach for a luxury, day spa experience, one that local publications have recognized as an award-winning, “best of” spa experience. When you arrive, they’ll provide you with a robe, a beverage, and a chance to kick back before engaging in services that they hope will make you feel beautiful inside and out.
Services include massage, facials, HydraFacials, body treatments, nail care, waxing, sunless tanning, sauna, and brow and lash treatments. One of their specialty massages includes raindrop therapy, which marries aromatherapy with Vita Flex massage. The infrared eucalyptus sauna provides six pre-installed health programs that lets you customize your experience.
They offer nine different spa packages—five geared toward couples—to which guests can add a $20 lunch and spend the whole day luxuriating at the spa. Some packages include mimosas and sweet treats after the service.
Celestial Touch Wellness Studio

Celestial Touch Wellness Studio wants you to know that you are in good hands when you enter their wellness studio. The environment is carefully curated to help you relax and to welcome you into their holistic health practices. Aromatherapy is an important part of everything they do. They have an extensive retail offering both in the spa and online that focuses on relaxation and rejuvenation. You can purchase such things as journals, doTerra aromatherapy aids, soaps, jewelry, and candles.
Their services focus on massage and bodywork, though within that they have a wide range of services available. Many of their treatments focus on a specific area of the body such as their Fab Foot Treatment or Fancy Foot Massage.
There is also a treatment that spends 30 minutes focused on your hands and wrists. Additional treatments include aromatherapy, cupping, hot stone, Reiki, myofascial release, and reflexology. Spa services include salt or sugar scrubs, and wax and heat treatments.
D-Tour Spa at Motor City Casino Hotel

The D-Tour Spa has 13,000 feet of what they call “pure decadence” and numerous local and regional publications have agreed with them and bestowed multiple awards upon this casino spa. Amenities include thermal whirlpools, large steam rooms, dry saunas, and rain shower facilities. They are available to anyone who books a service of at least $75 or to those who pay a $25 amenity fee.
Many of the services are Detroit-themed such as their signature Motor City Music Massage, where embedded “SO Sound” speakers let you feel and hear music while getting a massage. A Pink Cadillac body wrap exfoliates you with a blend of rose, geranium, and rosewood before applying mud.
If you go to the spa with two or more people, you can experience their D.Tour Rain Room, an interactive experience that requires at least two people and involves a body scrub, mud application, and several rainfall sequences.
Another signature treatment is their non-surgical facelift that uses micro-current technology to re-position and re-educate facial muscles. Couples can rent a suite that includes a self-applied mud bar, a hydrotherapy tub, and double rain showers to go with any booked services.
Esthetic Beautique Wellness Spa

Esthetic Beautique Wellness Spa sets out to inspire its community to find a judgment-free beauty, a standard set by each individual and not by societal expectations. They’ve created a slice of heaven set in Detroit, an oasis of calm where they have carefully chosen each color, art piece, music, and scent to create a relaxing and rejuvenating environment.
Services include skin care, deep tissue massage, natural manicures and pedicures, teeth whitening, yoni steaming, body cavitation, and body sculpting. For a relaxing experience, you can spend an hour resting on a table under their infrared sauna blanket. They have curated post-op lymphatic drainage packages.
For $25, you can have a one-hour consultation with their staff to help determine your needs and create a plan for any of their services including waxing, skin tightening, buttock lifts, pressotherapy, or body taping. Among their massage offerings is a power flower treatment.
Hidden Gem Luxury

While Hidden Gem Luxury is available for 24-hour emergency beauty services, they don’t take walk-ins. All guests must call or text for an appointment at this private beauty bar and wellness day spa that takes glamour seriously.
Open as late as 11 p.m. on most days, they promote beauty with curated facials, non-invasive body sculpting, waxing, and permanent hair reduction treatments. The studio is inside a private artist’s loft near Detroit’s historical Boston-Edison District.
In addition to butt lifts, body contouring, microblading, and chemical peels, they will apply permanent makeup and sculpt lashes. Guests can book time in their Relaxation Kingdom and indulge in a VIP Soak and Sauna experience. The soak takes place in a vintage cast iron clawfoot tub while the Relaxation Kingdom includes a Zen garden, easel with art supplies, yoga equipment, and a meditation station. For a more energetic session, guests can book a pole party or one-on-one pole fitness classes.

To accomplish this, they carefully curate each experience to give guests what they need and want in the moment. One guest described it as a no-judgment free zone where the staff will accommodate wherever you happen to be emotionally and physically. They’ll host private parties or provide a space for a daylong spa getaway.
Services include massage, facials, hydrotherapy, injectables, nails, waxing, scrubs and wraps, and medical spa treatments. They have technicians who specialize in oncology, pre- and post-natal, bridal, gentleman, and podiatry services.
While they are a European spa, they also pull traditions from such places as Costa Rica, India, and even NASA-tested therapies. Most treatments can be enhanced with a wide variety of options, making each service customizable to individual needs.
Meta Physica Wellness Center

The folks at Meta Physica Wellness Center are out to shatter the pampering stereotype by making its wellness services something for everyone. Located in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood, this beautiful spa offers a wide range of services and sauna packages and invites guest therapists to provide focused wellness treatments.
One of their massage treatments is the Rain Drop Technique, where more than 130 drops of essential oils are used during a full-body massage to promote detox and healthy immune systems while reducing stress and anxiety.
Other massages include relaxation, Swedish, reflexology, and hot stones. Bodywork treatments include craniosacral therapy, vagus nerve work, and Arvigo abdominal therapy. Infrared sauna sessions are either “bring your own towel” or an “elevated” option which provides towels, aromatherapy, water service, and a robe. Private showers are available afterward.
Om Day Spa

Ever since 2005, the award-winning Om Day Spa has offered a variety of services in a tranquil setting. Their goal is to marry the technologies of the West with the “healing, soothing miracles” of the East. Guests report their day-long packages were partnered with chocolate-covered strawberries, truffles, champagne, tea, and fruit-infused water.
They have a relaxation room where guests are welcome to hang out and read while enjoying the tea and fresh hors d’oeuvres. Couples and spa parties are invited to bring their own wine. A boutique offers specialty items that include foods, cosmetics, vitamin, skin- and face-care, candles, and accessories.
In addition to traditional facials, Om Day Spa offers Vivace, AquaGold Fine Touch, peels, microneedling, exosome, anteage, vampire facials, and Hydrafacials. Body treatments include massage, hair removal, CBD services, and body sculpting. Their wellness offerings include a shot bar, energy healing, and calming services. IV therapy is on its way.

Inside their walls, they invite you to enter a treatment room for a massage, facial or nail treatment. Their facials include a skin consultation and range from their Excellence Facial with seven customizable layers to the Guinot Experience using an exclusive French skincare line. For anyone wanting to host a special event with five or more guests, the spa concierge will help arrange a celebration.
The Schvitz

The Schvitz is a facility reclaiming its historic past. The club opened in 1930 and is now the last remaining historic bathhouse in the city, an old-world oasis that journeyed through a checkered history (some occupants included a notorious gang and later a swingers club) before the current owner bought it and restored its function as a bathhouse.
During public hours, they don’t take reservations. Even individual spa services provided by partnered therapists are on a first-come first-served basis. There are separate hours for men and women and then four blocks of time each week for co-ed bathing where swimsuits are required.
Admission includes access to the pool and saunas. You can bring your own towel, slippers, and lock or they will rent you robes and sell you slippers and a lock. Outside food is not allowed. There is a dining room and a ballroom at the bathhouse.
SOAK Spa at The Detroit Club

Set inside Detroit’s oldest private club, SOAK Spa provides an experience unmatched in the city. It starts with the architectural beauty of the 1891 building where it is neighbors with the club’s Library Bar, Bohemia Restaurant, and Uralli Cigar Bar.
Every day, the members and hotel guests have access to the saltwater grotto and infrared saunas. Anyone reserving a spa service can use the amenities for an hour after their service. The chef at Bohemia provides a small menu of spa food including a charcuterie board for those who order it 24 hours before their visit.
Their services menu includes body work, express services, wraps and polishes, and skincare. Body treatments include a range of massages including hot volcanic stones, couples, craniosacral therapy, sports, deep tissue, Swedish, and “babymoon.”
Their two main facials are a customizable one developed with the esthetician and the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Facial, which is 80 minutes of massage and treatments with world-renowned aesthetic products. A peel can be added to either facial and they also offer gentleman and back facials. Scalp massages and reflexology can be added to most services.

Maciek Lyko founded Spa Mariana as a place to bring his decades of knowledge to Detroit. He’s traveled the world to dabble in spa treatments and what he has learned in such places as Africa, Dubai, Poland, and Thailand have made it on to the diverse menu at Mariana. He personally trains all therapists at the spa.
They recently added sound bath sessions with Tibetan bowls and a gong. They’ve curated several packages for men, women and couples to meet various needs in their lives. Their services menu includes massages, facials, body treatments, waxing, reflexology, aromatherapy, and yoga.
They have two locations and only their Birmingham one currently offers facials. Some of the options include a detox seaweed facial, a pure results custom blend, an indulgence “beyond relaxation” facial, collagen firming wrinkle repair, CBD remedy and a clarifying one. Peels, cold globe roller treatments, collagen masks, and dermaplaning can be added on to facials.
They also have a long list of enhancements to massage, body work or facials including Chinese cupping, hot stones, CBD oil, foot/back scrubs, TMJ treatment, herbal oils, dry brushing, infused hot towels, scalp massage, and chocolates or champagne.
Spa in the Woods

Making the most of an intimate space, the professionals at Spa in the Woods welcome guests to a quiet oasis where an experienced staff makes each guest feel welcome and special. The spa is divided into two areas—a nail salon on the side of the reception/gift shop and then a spa area with infrared saunas and steam showers, a relaxation area, and treatment rooms. Fireplaces in some of the treatment rooms make for an inviting atmosphere and guests can enjoy coffee, tea or water between services.
Treatments include massages, body treatments, facials, waxing, and nail therapy. All massage services include hot towels, aromatherapy, music, heated tables, and complimentary use of the infrared sauna with its chromotherapy programs.
Treatment options include dry brushing, hot stones, peppermint foot therapy, and agave oil scalp massages. Skin treatments include European facials, a four-layer facelift, an oxygen facial, a CBD facial, and a Vitamin C facial.
Facial add-ons include collagen masks, gua sha massage, a honey glaze foot cocoon, back treatments, eye treatments, and scalp treatments. In addition to body polishes and scrubs, they offer energy work, natural health consultations, and Feng Shui consultations.
Tantra Aveda Spa

From a one-provider studio founded by Yvette Tremaine in 2002, Tantra Aveda Spa has grown to a full-service day spa with a calming environment. Designed to provide guests with a sensory adventure, Tantra’s air is filled with natural aromas, the interiors are designed in warm earthy colors, and each guest is offered organic herbal tea. Their Green Boutique sells items made by local artists.
Services include facials using Aveda products, massage, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, sinus relief treatments, body scrubs, foot rituals, waxing, and brow tints. One massage service is called Asuddha, the Sanskrit word for “bliss.” It is a head, hand, and foot massage with aromatic steam towels and essential oils.
Woodhouse Spa

Woodhouse Spa can be found on Detroit’s Woodward Avenue in a trendy neighborhood surrounded by shops and restaurants. A luxury day spa, Woodhouse Spa invites guests to recline in their quiet room while sipping on a signature Woodhouse Mimosa, a glass of wine or tea.
Don a Woodhouse robe and slippers in the private locker room and prepare for a service that is curated around what mood you want to achieve: connected, resilient, calm, confident, energized or balanced. Most services have been created at the corporate level and can be found at Woodhouse spas around the country. They include basic and advanced facials, massages, body treatments, nails, waxing, and rituals.
While they have packages, they also suggest pairings for each service so that guests can create their own spa day. Their rituals include such options as a meditative soak in a mineral-enriched bath, a restorative sleep massage, and Shirodhara—a healing Ayurvedic treatment that involves warm oil flowing on your scalp.
