Recipe: Vegan Turmeric-Infused Healthy Cocoa

As the weather gets colder and many of us are spending more time indoors (hopefully next to a cozy fireplace, if you have one), one of the best ways to get into the seasonal holiday spirit is with a warm cup of cocoa! But if you’re trying to be healthy and watch your sugar intake these days, we’ve got the perfect treat for you: Grand Velas Riviera Maya’s new Turmeric-Infused Healthy Cocoa recipe.

Created by the resort's spa director, Leticia Fernandez, this festive DIY vegan healthy hot cocoa recipe is the perfect beverage to enjoy while cozying up to a fire or watching a favorite holiday movie. Along with being easy to make (only five ingredients), the drink benefits the immune system, helps with inflammation, and more.

Turmeric-Infused Healthy Cocoa

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Almond Milk

  • 4 Tbsp. Raw Cacao Powder

  • 1.5 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

  • 3 tsp. Ground Turmeric

  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

Directions:

  • Place ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Whisk all ingredients until they simmer and a smooth consistency is achieved.

  • Remove from heat, pour into a mug, and enjoy!
