We spoke with Ronnie Mandler, Founder of Noah Clinics, to learn more about the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the conditions it treats, and more.
When was Noah Clnics founded? How many locations do you have?
The idea for Noah Clinics began almost a decade ago when I first started to think about improving health and improving quality of life. I began to investigate what advanced technologies exist to help with just that. I was first introduced to the concept of hyperbaric oxygen therapy by Dr. Enrico Camporesi, a Hyperbaric medicine expert and research pioneer, who is also on our advisory board, and I began looking into the studies and evidence. After many years of research and development of the concept, we are so proud to have opened the doors to our first location in November 2024 in Manhattan, and already have more locations in the pipeline in NYC.
What do clients love most about Noah Clinics?
Our clients love how they feel when they walk out of a treatment, and the improvement they see over time. We offer privacy, luxury, and personalized treatment programs designed to meet each person’s wellness goals. Our state-of-the-art, medical grade chambers are acrylic glass and provide customization options such as temperature control, adjustable loungers, flat-screen entertainment systems, and a two-way communication system to ensure the full comfort of our guests.
What services do you offer?
The Noah Clinics journey begins with a thorough physical exam and personalized health assessment to assess your overall health, medical history, current medications and specific conditions you are interested in treating with HBOT, while discussing the benefits with your doctor.
From there, each guest is provided with a specific Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment program. During the HBOT treatment, guests are invited to recline within one of our private, state-of-the-art pressurized chambers where a Noah Clinics technician works with them to gradually increase the pressure to levels 1.5 to 3 times normal atmospheric pressure.
During each 60 to 90-minute treatment session, guests breathe in pure oxygen, which helps the body reset to healthy levels—cells repair more rapidly while new collagen is produced and circulation improves.
What are the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
HBOT treatments can accelerate recovery from sports injuries, chronic wounds, burns, and surgical procedures. Through optimizing oxygen delivery throughout the body, these treatments also reduce inflammation and enhance overall health. In some cases, HBOT has been beneficial in helping people recover from long-COVID symptoms, hearing loss, cognitive performance, and more.
What conditions can HBOT help to treat?
HBOT is FDA-Approved as a treatment for wound healing (e.g., diabetic ulcers), studies show that HBOT promotes angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), enhances fibroblast activity, and reduces inflammation, leading to improved healing of chronic wounds. Acute Hearing Loss, and Skin and Bone Infections (osteomyelitis).
Emerging studies are showing that HBOT is beneficial for stroke recovery, long-COVID, fibromyalgia, and cognitive performance and brain injury. As a wellness tool, HBOT is used for anti-aging and athletic recovery, to expedite muscle recovery and reduce inflammation. More information on the conditions treated is available here.
How long does a session last and how often is treatment recommended?
Sessions typically last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes with the average being 75 minutes. The number of treatments is determined by each client’s preferences and recommendations by our physicians. Generally, patients require 5 to 10 sessions, though this could be more or less depending on the patient’s specific condition or circumstance. HBOT shows best effectiveness when frequent treatment sessions are conducted.
Any tips for those trying HBOT for the first time?
Expect a completely personalized session, and block off two hours for the initial consultation and treatment. Clients can usually resume normal activities immediately, unless otherwise advised.
