Sisyphus Industries has married art and furniture design with technology by designing unique tables that function as in-home kinetic art sculptures.

For the ultimate at-home relaxation experience, Sisyphus Industries designs unique handcrafted tables that function as in-home kinetic art sculptures and high-tech Zen gardens with a thin layer of sand and a steel ball, creating dune patterns that produce a continuously changing and meditative environment in any space. The tables are customizable from start to finish, offering consumers the option to choose their table’s base material, size, veneer, and lighting.

Sisyphus tables come pre-loaded with a default playlist and more than 30 paths or “tracks,” and users that download the Sisyphus app on a phone, tablet or computer browser can also add and share tracks, as well as create their own custom playlists. Speed and light intensity can be controlled through the Sisyphus app, and additional tracks can represent any picture, logo, or text that you can draw without picking up your pen.

The hand-crafted tables create dune patterns in a thin layer of sand and a steel ball, which produce a continuously changing and meditative environment in any space.

The coffee and side tables are available in multiple sizes with metal or wood bases in a variety of finishes:

  • Black Metal Base: Solid steel base with powder coated black finish, black or wood-veneer sides and top ring

  • Wood Base: Individually handcrafted wood base made of premium quality hardwood plywood, MDF core with wood veneer, hand selected and applied by a skilled artisan

  • Veneer Options: Cherry, Paduak, Maple, Mahogany, and Walnut

Helmed by CEO and artist Bruce Shapiro, Sisyphus Industries remains the most funded “art” campaign in Kickstarter history, having officially launched after the immense success of their 2016 Kickstarter campaign. In July, the company wrapped up a second Kickstarter to develop the Sisyphus Mini—a more affordable tabletop version.

Metal tables start at $1,299 and Wood tables start at $7,500. For more information and to customize your own Sisyphus, visit their website and follow them on Instagram: @sisyphus_industries
