Spa Review: Drift Spa at The Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach is known for its picturesque coastline that makes it a surfer’s paradise. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or a relaxing beach vacation, the SoCal beach town has something for everyone. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Drift Spa at Huntington Beach’s The Waterfront Beach Resort. The hotel is located steps from the beach and has beautiful ocean views perfect for enjoying a gorgeous California coast sunset.

It is also walking distance from the Huntington Beach Pier, shopping and dining. As soon as you step foot in the hotel’s spa, you’ll feel your stress instantly drift away—transporting you to a magical sanctuary of relaxation inspired by the sea.
Your journey starts immediately as you are invited to select a seashell from a collection of shells in the lobby. The shell’s purpose is for setting an intention which can be positive or something you want to release from your life, a meaningful way to begin your visit to Drift Spa.
I experienced the Destination Relaxation Massage, and just like the name suggests, it’s incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend Lita, who was my amazing massage therapist! The treatment uses lavender blossom oil with long connective strokes, and is designed to ease fatigue and soothe an overstressed nervous system.
After my service, I enjoyed relaxing in the outdoor spa garden. I loved the succulent artwork, which I learned was designed by one of the spa’s multi-talented massage therapists. I also was a big fan of the Naturopathica tea bar, which included various teas with different health and beauty benefits, along with spa snacks like chocolate-covered blueberries and cinnamon-sugar pecans. Unwinding in the steam room, sauna and hot tub was just what I needed after a busy week!
Why You’ll Love It:
The beachy decor, which includes sea-inspired details and a coral water wall.
The spa garden is a perfect place to relax before or after treatments.
The Naturopathica Tea Bar, where you can cozy up in the relaxation room while enjoying a delicious selection of tea and spa snacks.
Excellent amenities including a steam room, sauna, locker room with delicious-smelling products from Naturopathica, and a hot tub.
Great customer service. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Insider’s Tip: After enjoying a day at the spa, visit the rooftop bar, Offshore 9, for fabulous ocean views and cocktails!
