Spa Review: We Tried the CBD Facial at Le Jolie Medi Spa
With CBD being all the rage in beauty and wellness at the moment, naturally my interest was piqued when I found out that Le Jolie Medi Spa recently added a CBD facial to its menu of services. CBD, aka cannabidiol (the anti-inflammatory, non-psychoactive component of the marijuana plant) is known for being a powerful, healing substance that can do everything from alleviate pain to calm irritated skin. It’s also supposed to be great for breakouts, and being in the middle of one at the time, I was eager to see if this facial could indeed be what my skin has been looking for all these years.

Upon my arrival, I found a metered spot less than a block away and made my way to Le Jolie Medi Spa. The exterior resembles a beach cottage or bungalow, and features a spacious outdoor patio area for those that want to enjoy the Southern California sunshine before or after their treatments. The banana leaf pillows were a nice touch!
Check-in was easy and effortless—I was greeted by a friendly employee at the front desk, who promptly offered me a bottle of water. I sat down in the comfortable lounge area, which is stylishly decorated with a variety of wall art, coffee table books, throw pillows, candles, and other statement pieces throughout.
The spa also has a retail area where guests can stock up on an assortment of high-quality skincare brands, including iS Clinical, Natura Bissé, and PCA Skin.
Prior to my treatment, I popped into the restroom down the hall, which was also beautifully designed. I love that Le Jolie Medi Spa makes the most out of its entire space, and every room is extremely warm and inviting. It feels as if you’re in someone’s home, which lends to the overall comfortable and cozy feeling that contributes to a wonderful spa experience.
It was finally time for my eagerly anticipated facial! I was introduced to my esthetician, Farah, who led me into my room. It had a treatment bed with a warm, faux-fur blanket that kept me warm and snug throughout the duration of my treatment. As soon as I got under the covers, I immediately asked, “So what’s a CBD facial and how is it different than a regular facial?”
As Farah began to cleanse my face, she explained that the CBD Facial incorporates professional skincare products formulated with 100% hemp CBD. The treatment addresses redness and irritation, and is especially great for those experiencing breakouts. Each step pampers skin with certified organic extracts while delivering hydrating and restorative nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to provide a brighter more even complexion. Natural oil production is regulated, locking in moisture without clogging pores, and skin cell turnover and regeneration are encouraged at a faster rate. The result is soft supple skin that is rejuvenated and calmed for a youthful complexion.
After doing a double cleanse, Farah performed a CBD exfoliation with a high-antioxidant marula oil that is great for oily, acne-prone skin. Because it’s high in essential fatty acids and amino acids, it’s also ideal for addressing aging skin issues as well. The facial also included extractions and a face mask, which she custom mixed for me, adding a detoxing powder to help cleanse the pores and get rid of any bacteria. All of the products smelled amazing (I detected a fresh citrus scent), which made the experience even more enjoyable. After giving me a relaxing face massage, she finished off the service with a hydrating moisturizer.
I emerged from the treatment room feeling relaxed and refreshed. My skin had a nice glow to it and remained hydrated for several days after, which was quite impressive. In addition, my breakout cleared up faster and healed nicely without leaving behind those pesky red marks, which sometimes happen with my olive skin tone.
I definitely recommend that any skincare or CBD fan give this facial a try, as they’ll be pleased with the results. It’s especially great for those with acne and active breakouts, as the CBD really helps calm and soothe irritated skin. The CBD Facial costs $300 and is available now at Le Jolie Medi Spa.
