Artistex Salon & Spa—the premier beauty destination in Westport, Connecticut for two decades—recently expanded to a new 4,000 square-foot space with an advanced open concept. The Green Circle eco-conscious salon’s revolutionary design was inspired by Founder Odete DaSilva, who is an award-winning stylist and colorist.

The salon features overlapping geometrical shapes and spaces that encourage visual flow and physical movement while giving the feeling of an art space. Artistex Salon & Spa is triangular-shaped with overlapped octagonal sides, featuring floor-to-ceiling mirrored stations where cutting and other hair services are performed—offering a unique interplay between community and privacy.

The salon has three different areas that act as focal points: a central color bar, style bar, and individual styling stations. There is also a vintage-inspired barbershop, which includes hot towel service and hot shaves; as well as a special VIP room for clients that desire more privacy during their services.

Artistex is also home to a full-service day spa, which uniquely wraps around the entire salon and provides an array of luxurious amenities, including saunas, showers, steam, relaxation areas, and couples services. A variety of massages and body treatments are offered, as well as medical-grade facial peels. Different day spa packages and memberships are available, and the spa can also host larger groups, bridal parties, and corporate events.

We spoke with DaSilva, who shared more information about luxury amenities, unique services, treatments to try, and more:

Snacks Served: We offer tea, coffee lattes, espresso, sparkling and still water, prosecco, organic almonds and trail mix, and citrus waters.

Bonus: We make our own lotions and scrubs, which guests like because nowadays everyone is looking for products that are organic or natural. Clients can also bring their wigs and extensions in, which we will clean, style, and help them maintain. They can drop them off and pick them up after we’re done with them.

Insider’s Tip: We recommend coming in 45 to 60 minutes prior to your service time to enjoy the different amenities that we offer.

Unique Treatment: The Bamboo Massage, which uses bamboo sticks. The massage therapist heats the sticks, rolling and kneading them along the muscles, and uses them to apply pressure to effectively relieve tension and knots. This is combined with a hot stone massage.

Splurge Treatment: We have a package where guests can come in for an entire day and enjoy a facial, massage, have their nails and makeup done, then we finish the experience off with a blow-dry and hairstyling session. We can bring in lunch for the guest from one of the restaurants in the area. We will assign someone from the salon to work with them, similar to a concierge, so that we ensure we’re meeting all of their needs.
