Located just 40 minutes north of Atlanta, Château Élan Winery & Resort is nestled among North Georgia’s picturesque foothills and is home to an award-winning winery, mouth-watering restaurants, numerous golf courses, and a luxury spa. Just announced in April 2019, the resort unveiled plans for an extensive $25 million renovation which is scheduled for completion in November 2019.

The complete transformation introduces a fresh, yet timeless, modernized design while delivering a unique, distinctly southern concept dressed in French undertones, honoring the existing estate’s 16th century-style charm. Château Élan’s European-inspired spa will also receive a facelift during the renovation but of course plans to keep its relaxing ambiance. The spa is nestled inside a 35,000 square-foot mansion that overlooks a sparkling lake, emerald green lawns, flowering shrubs and lush forest.

In addition to a fitness studio, indoor pool, and lakeside restaurant that serves healthy meals and afternoon tea, the spa has 14 newly-renovated luxurious overnight guest suites that promote utmost serenity and relaxation. Its menu offers an array of indulgent, sensory treatments that refresh and rejuvenate, incorporating organic lotions, essential oils, and more. We chatted with Spa Director Michelle Ufer, who shared favorite amenities, unique and splurge-worthy spa treatments, and more:

Why You’ll Love It: Guests love our overall European-style environment, which offers a peaceful ambiance, elegant furnishings, and all the amenities to promote utmost serenity and relaxation.

Key Features: We offer fitness classes, a dry sauna, co-ed hot tub, indoor resistance pool, daily afternoon tea, cardio room, weight room, eucalyptus steam room, outside sun deck, and numerous custom toiletries.

Snacks Served: Fleur-de-Lis, the sunny dining room overlooking the lake and gazebo at the Château Élan Spa, offers gourmet breakfasts and lunch dishes with healthy seasonal ingredients. Afternoon tea is offered daily with cookies, scones, and fruit. Additionally, we provide a beverage station with snacks, seasonal waters, and tea.

Bonus: The added bonus for guests staying with us, or simply those visiting the spa for the day, is they may use all our facilities either before or after their treatment is completed, enjoying afternoon tea, the beverage/snack station, and freedom to roam in their robes and slippers! We also have a signature drink we serve to overnight guests and for special occasions: Brut with elderflower syrup.

Unique Treatment: The Couples Suite Romantic Journey (Mon-Thur: 4 hrs/$900; Fri-Sun: 4 hrs/$975). Couples are in ‘love’ with this enchanting and passionate retreat. The journey includes an 80-minute Chateau Ultimate Couples Massage orchestrated side by side, an intimate couples bath experience in a deep soak air jet tub for two scattered with rose petals and surrounded by candlelight, as well as his and hers aromatic facials and a full body exfoliation performed in tandem—complete with a spa lunch and suite-style alone time to enjoy a bottle of Moet Chandon and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Splurge Treatment: The Red Carpet HydraFacial Treatment (110 minutes/$445). It begins with detoxification from lymphatic drainage, which treats puffiness under the eyes and face, followed with a deep cleansing exfoliation, anti-aging chemical peel, and painless Vortex extractions for deep pore cleansing. Next is a collagen eye mask, Hyaluronic Peptide serum, and a vegan-based lip exfoliation treatment. It ends with a relaxing face, neck, and décolleté massage; a nourishing hot oil arm, hand, and foot massage; another advanced anti-aging serum to address target areas, LED Light Therapy, and lastly, a custom moisturizer. You will be ready for any red carpet event!
