We chatted with Molly Craig, Wellness Supervisor at The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection, to learn more about this beautiful destination’s unique spa and wellness offerings.
Why you’ll love it: The Edge Spa offers a robust menu of transformative wellness experiences. Our newest addition, the Edge Sanctuary, is a secluded space perched on the bank of Alexander Creek beneath the Edge Spa. This intimate space is designed for immersive energy journeys, bespoke treatments and other mindful pursuits. Our team is committed to providing personalized care inspired by local healing practices that blend science and nature to ensure every guest leaves feeling rejuvenated and more connected to themselves.
Key features: The Edge Spa has five spacious treatment rooms overlooking Alexander Creek, all dedicated to addressing guests' physical, mental and spiritual well-being during their stay at The Lodge at Blue Sky. The treatments feature products that utilize natural, bloom-to-bottle ingredients, many of which are wild-harvested from the onsite organic farm. Amenities include a relaxation area with an outdoor heated plunge pool for guests to enjoy before or after their treatments. The spa also offers several dry and wet saunas.
Bonus: Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a seasonal signature welcome ritual. This may include an essential oil offering with an affirmation card, or a "shot" of ceremonial cacao with intention setting, or an inquiry card pulling with deep belly breathing for example. Upon departure, the guests receive a take home gift aligned with the welcome ritual to remind them of their time at The Edge Spa.
Spa Snacks: The refreshments provided in the luxurious lounges include a selection of organic teas, fresh fruit and herbal waters, dried fruit and nuts, and custom made vegan dark chocolates. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be ordered from Yuta bar and served at the spa. Beyond the spa, guests can enjoy refined mountain cuisine at the Blue Sky’s signature restaurant, Yuta, which uses sustainable ingredients from Gracie’s Farm.
Popular treatment: One of our most popular wellness offerings is the High West Whiskey Rubdown which begins with a whiskey, salt, and sage foot soak, complemented by a shot of High West Whiskey. Then guests unwind with an old-school massage that incorporates warm towel compressions to alleviate any tension in the body, followed by a therapeutic muscle liniment to enhance relaxation further. This experience is concluded with a foot scrub and scalp invigorator.
Unique treatment: The Energy Journeys at our new Edge Sanctuary are the most popular among guests. Tea with Sugar, a guided experience exclusive to The Lodge at Blue Sky, begins with a heart opening tea ceremony with our expert wellness healer, followed by oracle card readings, meditation, intuitive gift discovery, belief transformation, or finding your inner animal spirit guide.
Wellness offerings: We offer a wide range of mindfulness experiences, including indoor and outdoor yoga, family yoga, guided meditation, and vertical vinyasa: aerial yoga which uses large swaths of silk suspended from tree branches in a secluded forest. We also have a new cold plunge experience utilizing spring-fed water from the creek and led by a Wim Hof-accredited expert instructor to guide guests through preparation and breathing techniques that will lead to optimal benefits. After the plunge, the fire-warmed Edge Sanctuary offers a cozy respite where they can safely bring their body temperature back to a normal resting state.
