Tucked away at the tip of the pine-clad Vouliagmeni peninsula on the Athens Riviera, the luxurious beachfront Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens offers a laid-back escape, just 30 minutes from the historic city center.
The hotel's elegantly appointed rooms, suites, and bungalows include laid-back accommodations in the Arion building, a buzzy vibe in the central Nafiska, or the privacy of the secluded, glamorous bungalows. The hotel also offers 10 distinct dining outlets, ranging from Greek and Mediterranean cuisine to Italian and Latin American. The Michelin Star Pelagos restaurant offers breathtaking sea views and a modern Greek menu featuring fresh seasonal and local ingredients.
The hotel also curates a variety of unique excursions, experiences, and amenities to explore Athens in style. Activities include luxury boat tours, olive oil tastings, and guided tours of the Acropolis and Poseidon’s Realm.
For the ultimate relaxation experience, visit the expansive Athens Spa which offers breathtaking Aegean Sea views and treatments inspired by the teachings of Hippocrates. Unwinding at the hydrotherapy zone with steam grotto and hammam facilities is a must. We interviewed Stella Arvanitakou, Director of Spa, to learn more about this stunning spa and her insider tips for getting the most out of your visit.
Why you'll love it: Guests adore the breathtaking view of the Vouliagmeni-Saronic coastline, which offers a pure Greek sea vista and serene atmosphere. They also appreciate the local scents and products used in our treatments.
Key features: Our 1,400-square-meter spa features 10 treatment rooms, including two couple suites. Six rooms have sea-view balconies where treatments begin with a welcome ritual, such as a foot bath or hand compresses. The spa boasts a 25-meter heated indoor pool, a jacuzzi with three different jets, a hammam with 50-70% humidity, an aroma grotto combining aromatherapy with 100% humidity steam baths, and three different aromatherapy and chromotherapy shower stations.
Public areas offer infused water with Greek fruits and healthy snacks. Separate male and female changing rooms provide saunas, steam rooms, and amenities like fresh bathrobes, towels, and slippers. There's also a grooming area with a variety of products and three cabanas in the spa garden by the outdoor pool for outdoor treatments like after-sun body care. Our boutique features high-end Greek apparel, accessories, Four Seasons home collection items, and cosmetic products.
Insider's tip: For special occasions, we prepare a secret wooden deck balcony corner where guests can enjoy a glass of champagne and snacks. Additionally, therapists prepare sustainable packages of local products used in treatments for guests to take home, complete with usage notes.
Spa snacks: Are there any other dining options at the hotel? We offer nuts and dried fruits from local suppliers, such as walnuts, dried peaches, and figs. As a post-treatment snack, we collaborate with a local bakery to provide daily healthy, sugar-free, and vegan bars.
Unique treatment: Our most unique treatment is the "Sorgi" ritual, meaning "affection." It includes a handcrafted lavender flower scrub mixed with pure Greek olive oil, followed by a Greek pomegranate soap cleanse, warm compresses, a beeswax and jasmine balm massage, and an express facial with aloe vera and chamomile oil and rose extract cream. It's a truly tranquil experience.
Wellness offerings: We offer a weekly schedule of activities at various scenic locations around the hotel, including the spa garden and seaside during sunrise and sunset. Activities include yoga, Pilates, aqua spinning, and hiking. Each session concludes with a biohiking menu, featuring therapeutic experiences for muscle tension, breathing exercises, and vibrated foam roller massages, all guided by an instructor.
Featured brands: We use Biologique Recherche for spa treatments and collaborate with a local vendor who operates a farm on a Greek island.
