The 5 Best New Setting Powders for a Flawless Photo-Ready Finish
We all want our makeup to look flawless in person and in photos. A good setting powder can help!
The right setting powder can give you that airbrushed finish while keeping unwanted shine to a minimum and holding your makeup in place. I really think a setting powder is an important step for finishing your makeup look, especially if you have oily skin that tends to get a little greasy. In the last few months, there have been some great setting powder launches. Here are 5 that are worth checking out!
RMS Beauty Hydra Setting Powder ($42)
RMS Beauty was founded by Rose-Marie Swift, a makeup artist for over 30 years and clean beauty pioneer. She launched RMS in 2009 with the mission to provide “cleaner” high performance products.
I’ve had the chance to try this setting powder and love it! It’s an ultra-fine translucent setting powder that is designed to be long-wearing. Hydra Setting Powder is a loose powder that’s talc-free and available in 3 sheer soft-focus shades (light, medium, and deep).
Too Faced Cosmetics Born This Way Soft Blur Flexible Finish Setting Powder ($40)
This powder just launched, so while I haven’t tried it yet (I will soon), I have to say the case is so cute and will be a great on-the-go addition to keep in my purse.
The oil-controlling formula is designed to mimic the look of natural skin, and melt in with other products to conceal away all of your unwanted shine while leaving behind a flawless, soft focus finish. Too Faced wants to put even the best Instagram filter to shame with this one! Soft Blur Flexible Finish Setting Powder comes in four flexible shades made to keep your makeup in lock from morning to night.
LYS Beauty Triple Fix Loose Setting Powder ($24)
LYS Beauty is the first Black-owned clean cosmetics brand to launch at Sephora. The brand is on a mission to dispel the myth that clean beauty, deep shade ranges and high-performance products, at an affordable cost, cannot coexist. The brand is certified Sephora and Credo clean with universal shade offerings and affordable prices.
Triple Fix Loose Setting Powder is another brand new July launch! Enriched with nourishing hydrators to help control unwanted shine while leaving skin visibly refreshed, this new microfine formula instantly smooths, blurs, and sets makeup with a natural matte, airbrushed finish. It’s designed to help minimize the appearance of fine lines, texture, and enlarged pores.
Benefit POREfessional Power Powder ($38)
Benefit fans will be excited to try the brand’s new setting powder which just launched this week!
The POREfessional Power Powder was created to set makeup, blur pores, and mattify the skin with 16-hour longwear. The formula is a loose silky-soft, superfine, weightless translucent powder. It’s designed to blend seamlessly and provide a natural-matte finish with a non-comedogenic formula. Key ingredients include Upsalite (a finely milled powdered mineral that helps absorb excess surface skin sweat and provides an instant mattifying effect) and mineral-rich Kaolin Clay (helps absorb excess surface skin oil).
Physician’s Formula Diamond Blur Skincare Powder ($15.99)
The Diamond Glow collection launched earlier this year and Diamond Blur Skincare Powder is another great option. I’m a fan of the whole Diamond Blur Collection and have introduced several friends to the collection when they were looking for cleaner and gentle, yet affordable products. The products in this collection give you a subtle, natural glow.
Diamond Blur Skincare Powder is an ultra-fine, talc-free and gentle, loose cushion powder. It’s made to set your makeup in place for all-day wear while blurring and diffusing the look of pores and giving you a natural glow. Key ingredients include mineral powder, vitamin E, “lustrous diamond dust,” and optical blurring agents.
