Santuario LeDomaine is the property’s modern spa, which is located underground beneath the former stables. The spa’s heat and electricity are supplied by naturally generated thermal energy, and its water comes from a well that stretches 120 meters into the ground.

Amenities include a private indoor pool with natural light, along with separate wellness areas for men and women, each equipped with a Finnish sauna, steam bath, whirl pool, relaxation room overlooking the interior courtyards, and aromatic showers. Why You’ll Love It: Our guests are often surprised and delighted to discover a truly modern spa with a very contemporary ambiance, located in a 12th-century abbey. Santuario LeDomaine is a subterranean spa located underground so its contemporary design wouldn’t conflict with the historic architecture that surrounds it. Guests appreciate the spaciousness and natural lighting we achieve through our patios and skylights.

Key Features: The spa features an indoor pool and two separate wellness areas for ladies and gentlemen. Each wellness area has its own relaxation lounge, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, scented showers and outdoor cold showers. The spa also features four individual treatment rooms and a spacious couples’ suite that is 80 square meters.

Unique Treatment: La Selección del Sommelier is a treatment that can’t be found anywhere else. It’s a full-body massage based on the traditional Tibetan massage KuNye and created specifically for Santuario and the spa sommelier concept. It starts with the Spa Sommelier Experience, where the guest tastes three of Abadia Retuerta’s wines and chooses from three different oil blends. Depending on the guest’s choice, the therapist will tailor the treatment.

Splurge Treatment: To enjoy the full spa and wine experience, I would recommend Le Grand Cru, a 120-minute treatment that includes a scrub, wrap and full-body massage featuring Anne Semonin’s Oenotherapy line (120 min, 260€).
